Flood can carry the entire Abuja into the River Niger and Benue, Wike will continue doing what he is doing because, he is arrogant, his boss is more arrogant & all that matters is Wike is working for him to Win re-election 2027,so even the flood of Abuja is an anti BAT supporter

@POnwuliri When they start stating things like this stay clear of Abuja real estate o, once wike leaves power there wud be massive demolitions that wud happen in Abuja, don’t say u weren’t warned.

This is one of the water ways, currently being sand fill by wike allocated agents. This is christ embassy Durumi area 1, back of Nnpc filling station.

Someone just came and threw away the master plan of a great city like ABUJA and is allocating green areas to his friends to build estates; what a shame for a country like Nigeria. Now floods are ravaging the whole city.

I won’t be shocked if some shenanigans begin spinning the narrative on flooding being a global disaster. The environmental impact assessment is one thing @OfficialFCTA should have done, not press conferences. A good time to re-emphasize the environmental risks through this thread

The Lagos and Portharcourt Influence in Abuja is horrifying!!!! Abuja master plan shouldn't only be sacrosant, it should Influence Lagos, Portharcourt and others to make amends. Instead we are seeing the opposite. Those with the most authority should act most responsibly please!

What is happening to El Rufai, will be child's play, compared to what will happen to Wike, the day Tinubu is forced out of Aso Rock.

When you destroy the environment, the environment will destroy you. Reclaim green areas and preserve wetlands. Abuja should be a livable a green city. Converting Abuja to a concrete jungle will bring more disasters like this. Reclaim lost Green areas and Wetlands #Vote4ClimateNG

The yearly and ever increasing flood legacy of Thiefnubu in Lagos has been very well replicated in FCT Abuja just within 4yrs of his failed govt. Promise made is Promise kept. He is a disaster and failure and MUST not be allowed to continue come 2027. #ThiefnubumustGO!

Immediately they started building structures on the supposed green areas that would have necessarily absorbed water, I knew flooding was imminent

They made someone a minister of a capital without any clue of town planning. Corruption will continue to destroy their whole generations.

Senator talk o! I voted you and I pay taxes in Abuja. What we are experiencing is an eyesore! I hope those whose vehicles have been affected by the floods, come together and file a class action suit against the Minister of the FCT and Ministry of FCT and FCDA

Why won't Arise invite those who are really in charge to explain the cause of the flooding..brining in an opposition will not give a balance to it..

I hate when Nigerian journalists do this. Aren’t you supposed to be investigating this issues yourself. They have this unattractive ignorant disposition to every important issue. They don’t know that elections are rigged, buildings are been built with no plan

Part of the flooding is also been caused by the cleaners who sweep the roads. They now sweep the dirts into the manholes.

The most annoying one is the court they are building in Garki They sand filled the water channels

When Senator Kingibe says flood channels are being built on, she is pointing at the one sin Abuja was never supposed to commit. I remember learning about the Abuja Master Plan in school — it was our pride, a city designed to avoid the chaos of Lagos. The flood channels, the green belts, the setbacks were not suggestions, they were engineering. So when I hear that people are now constructing on those very channels, I ask: who approved it? To me this is not just an FCT issue, it is a national pattern. We build the plan, then we build over the plan. Every rainy season we act surprised when water, which never forgets its path, reclaims its channel through people's living rooms. The flooding in Trademore, in Lokogoma, is not natural disaster, it is man-made approval disaster. I think Kingibe is right to frame it as a violation of the master plan's logic. You cannot monetize every open space and still expect a functional city. If the FCDA does not demolish those illegal structures on flood channels, even if it is politically painful, Abuja will become exactly what it was created not to be — another flooded city that blames nature for its own corruption.

‼️The Beginning of the End

The flooding in Abuja was not caused by climate change. The APC has normalized explaining away scandalous misgovernance as climate change, just as they have used rice as a panacea for every protest. Flooding anywhere is caused by heavy rainfall, clogged drains, reclaimed floodways, and deforestation. Land grabbing is killing our urban spaces. Countries that revere powerful personalities above their laws and their enforcement do not make progress.

My problem is even with the uproar the fct minister is yet to address and give his view to the public on the abnormal turn of events in the city center as regards to the flooding and that is to say we are just making noise and when we are tired we will move on. What are country

Tag @SenRemiTinubu that was praising @GovWike

Wike the drunk doesn’t think that. They’ll rather bring land grabber doesn’t know life is transient. What will Wike be remembered for ?

Engr. Umahi & Wike should take their time to work & Leave Peter Obi alone Your plan to become Vice President in the next dispension is a failed attempt. It was not only Igbos that voted Peter Obi in the last election you and your team rigged via Technical Glitches. SIMPLE

Failure leader

So nobody in FCDA could advise WIKE on the dangers of building on green areas?

Wike has become Judas dat sells anything sellable and unsellable. 🤣😬🤣😬🤣😬🤣😬🤣😬

The damage Nyesom Wike and his people has done 👍✅ to Abuja may not and can never be amended Mutilating, Looting of green areas containing water ways is disastrous.

@Alaanuloluwa_ I know some may challenge these points, but we can leverage GIS to analyse Abuja’s urban expansion over the last three years and model how this growth is affecting flood risk. Let’s move from assumptions to evidence-based planning. @GeohazardMaps

@Alaanuloluwa_ Abuja’s recent flooding shows the cost of urbanisation without sustainable, risk-informed planning. We must restore green spaces, protect waterways, expand drainage, enforce planning regulations and strengthen institutions Flood resilience must be central to Abuja’s development

Construction and city management is not as easy many people see it. After school of architecture, people will tell you is it not pencil and paper. Okay na draw. Look for 100k draughtsman. How do you appoint a career politician to manage Abuja? El-rufai is QS.

I told some group of persons that Wike will be the worst Minister in the history of FCT.. Some of them in that group were affected ... something they have never ever witnessed before. Make una dey praise rubbish dey go!

So it is #Wike that is approving and causing the flooding 🤔

💯

Why sell the green areas which are primarily flood channels/plains
