JUST IN: Los Angeles County declares a state of emergency in response to the ICE raids, will provide rent relief. The LA County Board of Supervisors made the move as the Trump admin continues to ramp up the raids. “The move allows the LA County Board of Supervisors to provide rent relief for tenants who have fallen behind as a result of the crackdown on immigrants,” the Associated Press reported. “A local state of emergency can also funnel state money for legal aid and other services.”

"The Sheriff's office will not changes its practices based on the Board resolution and policy that was passed at today's meeting," the statement reads. "The Board of Supervisors does not set policy for the Sheriff's Office." The Board Supervisor Supervisor Jim Desmond blasted the designation. "Today’s outrageous decision to turn San Diego County into a 'Super' Sanctuary County is an affront to every law-abiding citizen who values safety and justice. When I took office in January, I inherited a city with so much potential and a historic $800 million budget deficit that was holding us back. My team got to work, and in just a few months, we worked with the Board of Supervisors and partners across the city to deliver a proposed budget that tackled that deficit head-on and prioritized core services like public safety and clean streets to drive San Francisco’s comeback. After another productive month of work with Board President Rafael Mandelman, Budget Chair Connie Chan, and so many other critical partners, I am confident that this final budget answers San Franciscans’ call for us to rebuild a safer, cleaner, thriving city.

CAL FIRE, Santa Cruz County Fire, San Mateo County Fire, CAL FIRE SCU, Santa Cruz City Fire, CHP-Santa Cruz, CA State Parks with lifeguards and AMR responded. Two CA State Parks Lifeguards swam from Greyhound State Beach down to the pocket beach where the vehicle was located, found one patient, and administered CPR. CAL FIRE SCU Alma Helitack Copter 614 lowered a hoist basket to the beach and pulled the patient to the highway to the awaiting ambulance. The patient is in critical condition.
