Moussa al-Omar, a STG individual who belongs to the inner circle of Jolani is holding tribal councils across Raqqah and Deirezzor and explains to tribal leaders that Kurds are not native to Syria. This is precisely what we have warned about when we stated that a presidential decree is meaningless and can be revoked at any time. That’s not harassment- it’s accountability. I’m simply giving a larger audience the opportunity to see exactly what was said and draw their own conclusions. The issue isn’t that the statements were shared; the issue is that many people don’t like the public reaction to them. It’s easy to feel comfortable inside an echo chamber where everyone agrees with you. The broader public often has a different perspective. And to be clear, I never shared this individual’s address. In fact, he was the one who publicly referenced mine. Despite that, he is now attempting to portray himself as the victim of harassment for having his own public statements reposted and discussed. You’re free to say whatever you want in this country. You are NOT free from the consequences.
