Passengers pay full fare expecting a safe and peaceful journey, not to be left dealing with harassment on their own. It’s the responsibility of Indian Railways to ensure proper security across all classes, not leave travelers at the mercy of such situations. Safety and dignity during travel shouldn’t be a luxury it’s a basic right.

There is no difference between a premium train and a local bus when some passengers think the entire coach belongs to them. Shouting, loud conversations, videos without earphones, and complete disregard for fellow passengers have become far too common. Just hopped off with Tim Stenovec & Carol Massar on Bloomberg. Lots of acronyms flying around with EIPP etc but the basic way to think about it is this is the industry’s Waymo moment. No one had any idea what those cars were when they arrived in cities, but they rolled out methodically and showed everyone they were safe/quiet/convenient/etc. Now they’re just a part of normal life. Air taxi flights will begin via eIPP later this year in a similar way (just a few, no passengers). Good chance to bring the public and cities along for the journey and build the muscle needed to operate at scale.

In Goa on March 29, what was supposed to be a fun parasailing ride suddenly turned scary when the cable snapped mid-air. For a few seconds, the person was just hanging there with no control. It could have gone very wrong, but somehow it didn’t. But this isn’t just about one incident. Adventure activities are increasing across India, but many times basic safety checks are ignored. Equipment may not be properly tested, and not every operator is fully trained. Rules do exist, but on ground, things don’t always happen the way they should. If something as basic as a cable can fail like this, how much can people really trust the safety of these activities?
