Since OP didn’t explain, I will. Panel 1: Sonic is acting conceited when recalling the compliments he recieved. Sonic is generally quite humble and actually awkward with compliments. Panel 2: Sonic does not actively chase a recurring foe. This isn’t his day job, adventure is.

Keep in mind for the second one that is something that can change depending on the severity or context. I’m not fully aware of the context there so I won’t comment on if it’s appropriate, I’m just giving a broad statement on how Sonic typically views enemies.

Sonic is, generally speaking, a reactionary character. He takes action when prompted, when something *needs* to be done. When a current threat is eliminated he goes right back to adventuring and enjoying life. He’s no typical hero. He’s just Sonic.

^ In Sonic Adventure the whole city is in turmoil and Eggman is still “out there”. Yet, Sonic doesn’t stick around, ruminating on any sort of “What if?”. He moves on, he goes to his next chapter with a smile on his face, as always.

In Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic is literally an active villain right infront of him and what does Sonic do? He straight up tells him he’ll be waiting for the next conflict if he wants. He doesn’t worry about the future and doing hero duty. He simply enjoys the thrill and the fight.

hmmm yeah this is a good explanation on the “issue” with it Though it feels quite similar to something like this when I read the dialogue. He’s saying something like “I’m pretty cool aren’t I?”

I mentioned that in a qrt lol. It’s iffy. It’s similar in concept but Sonic bringing up *someone else’s* compliment almost entirely unprompted is at least some awkward dialogue there. This isn’t anything to go “NOT SONIC!” over though

While I appreciate the explanation because I couldn't for the life of me figure out what op was trying to say, Sonic does go after recurring foes. A lot. The plot for most Sonic games is him going after an enemy because they plan on destroying/taking over the world. There's-

Can you please tell me what game features Sonic following an enemy completely unprompted? Sonic would follow an enemy when there was actively something in harms way. He wasn’t hunting them down out of nowhere.

He should've said "🌬💨🍃" i think that would have been better

Mhm
