ollie was asked who of the veterans on the grid would be a good mentor to rookies and the host suggested carlos ollie: “i rate him very, very highly. i mean, when i was a reserve driver with ferrari and i was listening in on all the debriefs and the detail and the way he's able to describe what he feels in the car is incredible. because it's one thing feeling it and often i was finding, okay, i'm feeling the same thing as this guy or esteban, for example, but carlos was able to describe it to the engineers in a way that they could improve the car. i think that's such an important quality to have.”

Q: Lewis, it looked like you were set for a good day, a great start, a great pass on Charles, ultimately the Ferrari did not seem to agree with those hard tyres. "Didn't agree with any of the tyres today, no, a very very hard race, I can tell you it was a really really tough race, one being extremely hot, so yeah I had, my start wasn't really very good to be honest, my getaway was poor but then I was on the attack, obviously got past Charles and I thought it wasn't looking too bad in the first few laps with George, I was kind of holding on for a second and then the rear just dropped off on every set, for some reason the balance was very open, very difficult and I think we, I mean on Friday we were down six tenths just in straight line speed, and I have to go and see what the case was today but I'm sure it was not insignificant, but also just grip wise we just couldn't keep up with everyone today, so a very tough one but I'm grateful for the points, the team did a great job with the strategy and with the pit stops, the boys worked so hard on the pit stops so we were proud of them and yeah, not the result we wanted but we got the points atleast." lando asked whether his relationship with oscar changed: “it's still the same. and i think we both are happy that that's how it is. it's because we both have a lot of respect for one another and we both understand the position that we're in. and we both treat the world of driving versus just personally what we're like away from the track, quite differently. that's how i've always been. i feel like i've always gone on well with my teammates since go-karting. i've always wanted to because it just makes my life more fun, more enjoyable and that's also why i'm here. it's because i love what i do, so the more i can do that, the better. but we still just very much understand that we're here, we work for mclaren, we want the best for the team. we work very hard and as drivers always do, you try and maximize your own performance more than anything. but then when we step out of the car, we can still have a joke. we still have laughs in our debriefs, and we still enjoy everything away from the track. so, no i think it's still better than ever in many ways. i think we're still very different people. he's very just calm down to earth, very relaxed, always looks just cool, and that's something i also admire quite a bit, is how just plain sailing he is with a lot of things. it's a good attribute to have. always hard to read what mood he's in, but i think probably for me, you see more visually kind of the moods i'm in. but otherwise, it's not like we go play golf together and do things like i have done with carlos, daniel i didn't play golf with. but we're still different people, but in terms of relationship, we get along well. we still work together well and i think it's still better than it's ever been”

So are you thinking if we can just get this [Engine ADUO] we know we have an incredible car? I honestly thought that we were faster than we were. I think we need to look at our practice sessions because obviously it was very promising on Friday. We made, I think, a step in the wrong direction on Saturday morning and we didn't move from there. And the car was just very weak in the middle and the last sector. So we couldn't get close to the cars ahead. Soso ultimately, I think process-wise we can improve and then set up the direction that we took was wrong. But I think also the guys around us were really quick. We just needed to qualify quick. Mariana: Yeah, that's why I said that I thought that you had the car for a better position because yesterday you said it was actually a process problem, you know, choosing the right or the wrong tyres. Lewis: Yeah, I think if we qualified in the top three, I think we would have probably stayed there, you know, because people weren't overtaking. So it's just down to qualifying.
