Wow yeah, New Yorkers ridiculing and dehumanizing Southern culture, never seen that before.🙄

I didn’t laugh at this even once

It’s supposed to be funny because SNL thinks country singers and their fans are stupid. That’s joke here.

The NY audience barely laughed during the whole skit, which should tell you how unfunny the rest of the country found it.

Ferrell comes off as an ass. Who green lighted this garbage?

The characters in the booth come across worse than Farley.

I don’t even know what the writers thought would be funny here -

Yeah, that’s not funny at all. First, anyone running a studio knows better than be passive-aggressive assholes to the talent. Second, Hank Williams Jr rates everyone in this skit. A bunch of puppies yapping at the big dog.

This sucks. And Hank drinks Jim Beam

Actually the fall of the NFL was when they fired Hank due to his political opinions after that they tried to cancel our National Anthem. Not really funny….

Will Ferrell is a douche

Im just waiting for the funny part and it never comes.

Anything to marginilize non J Whites... same as they still are doing

Hollywood mocking white southern culture. All part of their game. They’ve been at it a long time.

How was this funny? Shit was complete ass

Maybe the most unfunny comedy skit I have ever seen.

Awful. Can only make fun of country whites.

Stupid fucks on SNL don't realize Hanks buddy would have been Jim not jack

Not even a little funny

Bocephus would kick Will Farrell's ass

What's even more funny is that Hank Williams Jr. has more talent in his little finger than that entire cast.

He was the man, comedic genius, 1 of a kind! I was lucky, I got to see him at Second City with Sal Goodman - (Bob Odenkirk) you could tell those guys were special. Chris could burn the candle from both ends! I would see him around the Chicago bars or the Cheesecake factory - I do not think he ever paid or turned down a drink in this town. Yet ever Sunday he was at mass at St Michaels Church! Sad that he left this earth so fast! (RIP)

this is the saddest and hardest episode to watch. Chris is so far gone at this point. The audience is humiliated for him. Any laughs you hear are nervous.

Chris played a drunk degenerate, only to have that degenerate to still be living.

What was supposed to be funny here?

Like anyone in that New York audience had any idea about Hank Williams Jr.

This wasn’t even a little bit funny. I remember this era of SNL. They were surviving by the skin of their teeth. Had been brutally unfunny for 3 or 4 years at this point.

One of his least funny skits

@_SILLYGOOSE_ofl

if you close your eyes, could easily be a captain beefheart impression

This episode is a really hard watch. Chris died less than two months after this aired and you can clearly tell the drug and alcohol use had taken such a toll on him that he could barely emulate the energy he had just a few years prior.

Am I the only person that thinks Farley was extremely overrated

Tough watch
