It has no choice.” Love that quote from Shad Helmstetter in his great book ‘What To Say When You Talk To Your Self’. The inner dialogue that’s going on all the time in our head is THE most important thing we have going on. How we talk to ourselves is a huge part of creating a powerful self-image, which is important because we will never out perform a poor self-image. When we take control of our self-talk and feed our mind powerful thoughts, we direct our focus on to what we WANT to happen. When we let our self-talk happen by chance, many times our focus gets directed to what we DON’T WANT to happen. We can all take notes from AD_99 as he clearly had this mastered. Congrats on an amazing career man 👊

Human Nature; why you do me that way? | SS8 In this Sunday Service, we were inspired by Norman Grubb’s book No Independent Self and his central idea that every person lives by a spirit source: either the self-life or the life of God Himself. We are reminded of Jesus’ teaching on the vine and the branches, and we consider what it means to live from God’s life rather than our own especially when we meet challenges in daily life and in parenthood. Finally, drawing wisdom from Wendell Berry, we explore how the natural world reveals that some of life’s deepest beauty and meaning emerge through encounter, resistance, and relationship, reminding us that we were never meant to be self-sufficient, but rooted in the source of all life.

You Have A Spiritual Task! During our life, we are tasked with developing and purifying our spiritual bodies. In Anthroposophy, when the astral body becomes purified, it reaches a condition known as Spirit Self, or the spiritualized self. In the Eastern traditions, this same process was referred to as manas and was associated with cultivating a strong moral life and a disciplined mind. In the Greek era, this process was called catharsis, or katharsis, and was understood as elevating the mind toward spirit through self realization and higher contemplation. To develop Spirit Self, we must learn to recognize our lower impulses and refrain from acting upon them. Instead, we attune ourselves to God and strive to act in His image, thereby bringing about a gradual cleansing of the astral body.

We knew we wanted to build an object oriented language. We wanted managed code or byte code so we could target different runtime environments. We wanted garbage collection and exception handling, but also things like a unified object system where, and that's true in C#, anything can be assigned to an object. If it's a value type, we box it. And it's a self-describing object. So, reflection: you can ask an object, ‘what are you’? And you can get all of the facts about it at runtime, and you can dynamically manipulate it in ways that just don't exist in a lot of other environments. We wanted a language that made this new model of properties, methods and events first class because that was how components were built as opposed to just sort of functions and procedures and even objects. And we wanted to create a language that was standardised. We wanted to give this language to a standardisation committee and try to level the playing field there. And all of those things were sort of like what was rolled up in C#”

Why do we have to use hand tools? Why do we have to use materials of this size?" "Why do two people need to be able to carry every single part of the building system? Why don't we make the biggest thing we can in the factory that still ships cost effectively, and then just crane it into place?" "Just like that, we deleted five assembly processes, ten components, and just made it one thing." "You don't really have the right to question the requirements in this space unless you are in charge of setting the requirements."
