Solar could be returned to cropland in thirty years if constructed correctly. Look at the site we graze. Remove the panels and pull the I-beams. No concrete at all on this site. Much easier than when the forest was cleared.

I don't understand the people that say that it gets turned into a toxic wasteland after solar. It's literally aluminum panels with glass on them. As long as they're not broken you can just take them away.

Also better than using gas powered mowers, trimmers and other landscaping machinery with herbicides to keep it clean. A clean way that can regenerate soil and sequester carbon.

Good looking sheep! Our sheep graze under our house solar, the soil is thick clay and with bale grazing and judicious seeding we're turning it in to good pasture, our farm was considered junk land when we bought it because they row cropped the life out of it, but we're turning it in to silvopasture.

I’ll say this- if you’re putting solar in- Grazing should be mandatory But my concerns are- -what happens to soil below if the panels shatter - no concrete is could-if they don’t doze the heck out it -they wanted to ship power produced in 52175 to 90210

Yeah, cause farm commodities produced in 52175 are consumed in 52175? lol It used to be the goal of rural America to sell things of value to the city and get paid for it. Those were the golden years of agriculture. Most remaining large operations paid for their land then.

What if we want to do it in one night?

What if we needed to switch to domestic and local food production in one night? Covid kind of gives you a hint how that would work out. Please please quit acting like solar is going to ever take more than 1% of farmland. It’s as disingenuous as the woke crowd.

That seems fairly optimistic.
