Solar panels fry everything!!!

I know right! We install hundreds of thousands of them at scale and you'd think all the sheep would be cooked but no.... they are super happy, shaded and fat on all the green grass underneath. I too am unsure why people think they cook the planet...?

This is my solar record for the last month. We're off grid, live in an elevated area of the Great Dividing Range where overnight temps frequently drop to negative. We run 4 split systems all day set at a compfy 19°C, heat pump hotwater, tank water require pumps. All electric house. We don't scrimp on power use. Yet during October our battery (blue line) hasn't dropped below 80%. Same for September. I'm waiting on delivery of my EV in early December to eat up some of this extra power.

In paddocks, Solar panels absorb sunlight & convert part of it into electricity, while the rest turns into thermal energy. On a hot summer day, solar panels can easily reach temperatures significantly higher than the surrounding air (often 20°C - 30°C warmer or more) Just saying

If you consider 65°C to 75°C not uncomfortable to touch. 🤔

the panels obviously are not 65 to 70 deg C at midday. as you can see, i had my arms on them.
