Yesterday, I hit 900 days sober, and I’m sharing a video of my journey to show you what’s possible if you are struggling & you break free. Sobriety didn’t just change my life—it made it better than I ever imagined, proving we’re capable of achieving anything once we remove the negative influences holding us back. For years, I was my own worst enemy, stuck in a cycle of bad choices, almost like the universe was reflecting that chaos back at me. If you’re drinking or using drugs to escape your life or your feelings—like I was—you’ll never find real happiness until you face yourself and build something worth sticking around for. I used to think alcohol and drugs were my problem, but they weren’t. They were my solution to the mess in my head—a habitual coping mechanism. Once I learned to cope on my own and replaced those habits with new ones, life became beautiful. In the last 900 days of sobriety, I’ve achieved so much: I sold out 60 shows on my UK comedy tour, racked up millions of views on my podcast about sobriety, and built a Facebook group with 50,000 lads that’s now a charity—Men and Their Emotions—raising funds for counseling and addiction support. I became a better father with a new baby, made my wife happy, ditched the toxic users and people-pleasing, and grew confident. I learned to box, won a Misfits match, and stopped letting manipulators intimidate me. I opened a restaurant, a podcast studio, a comedy club, and a gym. I wrote a film about my journey—men lost to mental health, women holding families together, addiction’s wreckage—with an incredible cast ready to bring it to life. But my proudest achievement? Being present for my family. My newest baby wouldn’t be here without sobriety, and nothing beats showing up for them, alive and thriving. I’ve slowly mended my mental health and anxiety, trading countless bad days for good ones. But don’t think for a moment that she isn’t capable of communication. Throughout this video she clearly conveys multiple non-verbal messages. Streetopia - Get Out Of Reet 🎬 Introducing the initial installment of an evolving tale brought to life by Generative AI. This captivating narrative has emerged from numerous poorman experiments and showcases the potential for an ongoing series of bite-sized episodes, each lasting under a minute. How I did do it? 1. All 3-4 shots of me are on green screen. 2. Backgrounds were created in a photo editor using stock pictures. Mostly stitched. Different aspect ratios. 3. I downloaded static 3D models & Animated models (greenscreen/alpha) and played with them in my motion graphics editor. Filled in some storefront windows with more videos. 4. Did some masking magic, camera movement, and played with layers and depth... for example, I masked the sky to add a storm and t-rex 🦖 5. Sent individual clips to Kaiber (in 4k) 6. Exported favorite renders (in 4k) and sent them to my video editor for choppin', sound design (poppin'), and voiceover (in 4k). See thread for examples. Challenges: • I wish I had a treadmill to actually look like I'm walking. • I was lucky with frame consistency. Except for the wide shot that fuzzed my face (me on the couch). I re-did the shot on Kaiber in a close-up and manually key-framed my face on that wide shot. • I couldn't do much about the buggy eyes in the last clip. • No butterflies were harmed in this video. How long did it take: • A day and a half with tons of happy accidents • How long will it take you? Probably much longer if you don't know how to shoot, edit, design, composite, edit sound, or know where to look for assets. But it's not impossible! What's the plan? To continue the story while still learning and experimenting along the way. This is a much longer process. Very tiring. Might try doing it weekly or bi-weekly. What's the story about? In the quest to escape Reet, everyone yearns for freedom. Ricardo, however, carries a hint of cynicism. He finds pleasure in the disorder and may seem reluctant to lend a hand. Nevertheless, the encounters with diverse characters along his odyssey will ignite a transformation within him, although not without challenges. Gradually, he will come to realize the profound truth: "Helping others is away is a way of helping ourselves." A BBC team questioned Jane MacLeod, who was the Post Office’s General Counsel between 2015 and 2019, while she was walking her dog outside her home in Sydney. She replied with “no comment” when asked why she wasn’t attending. She had been due to give evidence this week. “It’s unsurprising, but it speaks volumes,” says Jo Hamilton (Jo Hamilton ), one of the wrongly convicted former sub-postmasters. “If she was determined to help the inquiry, she’d be there,” she added. 'An important witness' Born in Australia, Jane MacLeod returned to live there in 2020. Last month Sir Wyn Williams, chair of the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry (Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry ), revealed that while Ms MacLeod had submitted a witness statement, she had decided not to give oral evidence, despite being asked to do so. The inquiry heard that the reason, offered by Ms MacLeod’s lawyers, was that given the passage of time, she considered her written statement was the best evidence she could offer. Since then, Ms MacLeod has not responded to BBC requests for comment. Sir Wyn said that even before seeing her written evidence, he’d decided that Ms MacLeod was “an important witness” from whom he wished to hear in person. He added that despite the offer to have her travel and accommodation expenses covered, Ms MacLeod “has made it clear that she will not co-operate with the inquiry by providing oral evidence”, either in person or via video-link. However, Sir Wyn explained that his options to force her to attend were limited because she lived abroad. Under the Inquiries Act 2005, witnesses can be legally compelled to give evidence – but this only applies to UK nationals. In Germany, fewer than 50 percent of people believe they can express their political opinions freely. And 84 percent believe that many people refrain from saying what they really think because they fear the consequences. Freedom of speech may still exist in law. But what is it worth if people no longer dare to use it? One reason for this is that the law is increasingly being used as a weapon against those with different political views. In some cases, simply stating facts can even become a criminal offense. A member of my party, Marie-Thérèse Kaiser, was convicted of incitement to hatred. Why? Because she opposed the admission of Afghans to Germany after the Taliban returned to power. She pointed out that Afghan nationals are heavily overrepresented in gang-rape statistics. She simply stated a fact: Afghans are overrepresented by a factor of eleven. In Germany today, even stating such facts can lead to criminal prosecution. While serious threats often go unpunished, ordinary citizens face the full force of the state when they express dissenting political views. This is a clear example of what is known as anarcho-tyranny—one of the greatest problems facing Western democracies today. Anarcho-tyranny describes a situation in which the state fails to carry out its basic duties, such as ensuring public safety, while simultaneously using its power aggressively against ordinary citizens over relatively minor matters. In practice, this often means lenient treatment of foreign criminals while those who speak about problems related to migration are prosecuted harshly. The grooming-gang scandal in the United Kingdom showed where this can lead. For decades, mainly Pakistani grooming gangs sexually abused white British girls. Police, politicians, and the media failed to act because they feared being accused of racism. In this way, lawfare also fosters self-censorship. These are developments we must not accept. Lawfare is a strategy to silence political opponents—and with them, democratic debate itself. The consequences are serious: people lose trust in public institutions, open debate disappears, and democracy risks becoming little more than a façade controlled by the ruling elite. It was a pleasure for me to organize an event last week at the European Parliament featuring great speakers such as Eva Vlaardingerbroek, Dries Van Langenhove, and Andrea Ballarati , entitled “Lawfare: When the Law becomes a Weapon.”

Is this what we call a civilized nation with high morality, ethics, and civilization? I urge all Cambodian compatriots not to engage in such disgraceful acts, which are inhumane and even worse than those of animals. Regardless of whether this video was made by a human or by AI, it clearly displays immoral behavior regardless of nationality or group. Recently, some of our compatriots asked me to create content featuring photos or portraits of the Thai King, where participants would shoot at the images to win prizes, just as some Thai nationals have been doing. I responded that if we believe their actions are wrong, then we should not compete in wrongdoing. There is no value in replicating such inhumane behavior, which is worse than what animals would do. I further explained that their intention is to provoke me, to cause me to lose patience during this fragile ceasefire, or at the very least, to incite some of our military forces and our people to retaliate and stir conflict. I sincerely appeal to all our compatriots not to use the portrait of the Thai King or images of any Thai leader in any inappropriate or disrespectful manner. Although our country is small, our population limited, and our economy weak, we must not be weak in morality. We must remain a dignified nation with high moral values. If you are hurt by or unhappy with Thailand, please refrain from purchasing Thai goods and stop using the Thai baht in Cambodia to strengthen our national monetary independence. Please do not take any actions that would affect Thai companies or Thai citizens who are living and working in Cambodia. I still believe that the majority of Thai people do not want to be enemies of the Cambodian people. Some people in Thailand, including some Thai leaders, are making inaccurate assessments of Cambodia’s economy, saying the country is facing hardship following the Thai border closures due to a lack of consumer goods. I should thank the Thai leaders for unintentionally doing us a favor. Cambodia has spent no less than five billion US dollars annually to purchase Thai products. Redirecting this spending to local products would provide a market and opportunity to strengthen the Cambodian economy. We never asked for Thai products to be sold in our markets. We paid for them. Thai leaders must not misunderstand or continue to belittle Cambodia. We know Thailand is wealthier than Cambodia, but you should also acknowledge that we spend money to buy your goods, which contributes to income for the Thai people. To Thai sellers who used to trade in Cambodia, please do not be upset at losing a major customer. This is not Cambodia’s fault. Finally, I want to inform our people, especially those living near the Thai border, to urgently exchange Thai baht for riel or US dollars, because in the near future you may face heavy losses. The baht could become a point of vulnerability, used for pressure, just as we’ve seen in past situations involving electricity, internet, and fuel. Switching from the baht to the riel helps strengthen the financial sovereignty of our nation. I would like to attach a video in which a Thai national displayed my photo to shoot at in order to win prizes.
