For people curious about this smudge effect, it is using a custom blender called "Goo" by @dillongoostudio The Screenspace Info node specifically :) The geometry node is just here to "draw" it where I want it, it's a simple curve to flat mesh.

@azuubanana There is geometry nodes but nothing too fancy here. :) I just use it to draw the faces used to apply the smudge material.
