I used Cursor to vibe code a simple fishing game prototype on the Unity Engine. Here's my learnings: - I did not use any Unity MCP for this. The game was built entirely by Cursor models (Sonnet 4.6 for execution and Opus 4.6 for planning) - The model was able to set up the game, getting the basic game mechanics working fairly quickly - I had to use the Unity Game Editor UI to attach components to the in-game objects manually, but it was quite easy to follow the instructions given by the Cursor model - Unity Editor is huge and slow! Compared to Godot, I find the UI really clunky I feel tired looking at it - Unity Assets Marketplace is amazing, there are so many amazing art assets there (like the ones I am using for this game). This is probably the biggest strength of Unity. - I had some issues with restoring checkpoints, probably because of how Unity Game Editor UI being really clunky and I had to manually adjust things in the Editor, which the model doesnt have knowledge of Overall, the results turn out pretty decent, but it was a rather frustrating experience, especially when I had to debug issues or rollback changes. I'll explore more vibe coding on Unity but for now, I think I prefer Godot as a game engine. I just wish there is a Godot Asset Marketplace!

Bronny James on national television in the McDonald’s All-American game. Some publications had him rated as a 5-star recruit. Others had him rated as a 4-star recruit. A couple of my boys watched the McDonald’s game just to see Bronny stink it up. They swore before the game that Bronny had no business being there, and that he was about to be exposed by far more talented high school players. I was bracing myself for phone calls. I knew that my boys were going to call me talking trash if Bronny stunk it up in this game. Then the game started…….and it was QUICKLY evident that there was a future first round draft pick on the floor playing against a bunch of college recruits. The previous day, he came in 2nd place in the dunk contest. Now here he was looking like Klay Thompson in the game! I never received those phone calls! I wonder why…………..hmmmmmmmm!!!!!!

Alonzo Mourning and UD tells a story of Shaq getting in foul trouble on purpose because he ate a steak before the game: “So we’re in Golden State…this is real. Golden State — on the bus after shoot-around, he (Shaq) taps me on the shoulder again ‘ima pick up 2 quick ones, I ain’t got it tonight big fella so you’re going to play a lot…’ he prepared me for this game” (via Wy Network by Dwyane Wade)

DeepSeek v4.1 Flash vs GLM 5.3 Flash I asked both models to recreate the Psychonauts 2 and Metroid Prime game menus as closely as possible to the originals. Attached are full-sized videos from both models for both games. All were done in a single shot, both at Max thinking, same harness. Tokens used: DeepSeek v4.1 Flash - Psychonauts 2: 412k - Metroid Prime: 466k GLM 5.3 Flash - Psychonauts 2: 134k - Metroid Prime: 111k That's between 3-4x MORE used by DS4.1F. Who do you think won? IMO GLM 5.3 Flash won by FAR on both.

I’ve been a 1-2-1 coach for over 20 years. I’ve worked with some of the best players in world football. I’ve coached at Chelsea and Spurs, and consulted for Premier League academies including Arsenal and Brighton. And in all that time, I see the same mistake made by 1-2-1 coaches at every level. They don’t link their practices to the game. Every drill, every rep, every session needs to be connected to real game actions — and for older players, position-specific actions. That’s how you get game transference. That’s how what happens in training shows up on match day. Not more drills. Not more volume. The right practices, linked to the right game moments, coached with clarity and purpose. That’s the difference between a session that looks good and a session that actually develops players. Are you making this mistake? 👇 Comment FIX below and I’ll send you exactly how to build game-specific actions into every 1-2-1 session you coach. 🎓

Suns guard Grayson Allen on flagrant 2 on Chet Holmgren, ejection: "Felt like I gave a good foul within the physicality of the game and what was going on both ends, especially with the bumps on screens. Some of the hits on blockouts that were happening. It was straight up. He was cutting into me. Definitely a foul, but I thought it was within the physicality of the game. I think the reaction afterwards kind of played into that." On if he was surprised it was a flagrant 2: "When (lead officials James Williams) said the explanation, I thought that was the description of a flagrant 1. They looked at it a bunch of times. I didn't feel like there was wind up. I braced myself. Definitely delivered a bump and a hard foul, but it was straight up. It wasn't like Mark (Williams) last game when he was flying in the air (fouled by T-Wolves big Rudy Gobert that led to flagrant 2, ejection)." On level of physicality reaching a heightened level: "They're obviously a physical team and that's part of their identity. That's part of how when you play against them the game is going to be played. Us as a team, we're a little bit like that, too. Any big games like this, regardless of the score, I feel like physicality is going to build up throughout the game. As players, we just play off of what gets let go and what does/doesn't get called and try to match the lines. I think our game against them got more physical as it went on with us matching their physicality and them matching our physicality. That back-and-forth just kind of builds throughout the game." #Suns #ThunderUp

Using MeshyAI alongside Blender with Codex/Astra for 3D game creation is such an unlock for higher-fidelity characters (the models aren't great at procedurally creating characters in my experience) My workflow starts by generating high-res image refs (in t-pose and nothing else in background) of target characters in Codex/GPT Image 2 (or finding some online) The model then handles image-to-3d via Meshy REST API, as well as rigging + animating the models and integrating them into target game (the latter piece is where frontier models really stand out) I always have the agent create a local studio page so I can view and interact with the generated models! Tl;dr: Bowser T-pose image → 4 Blender reference images → Meshy image-to-3D → Blender cleanup (3M → 35K triangles) → Meshy auto-rigging → walk/run animations → interactive Three.js viewer

ENZO MARESCA’S PRE-CONFERENCE TODAY AHEAD OF THE TRIP TO LINCOLN. Enzo Maresca on Cole Palmer🔵 Cole is probably is the only one that we need to assess a little bit. The rest are okay, just to recover from the last week. He did already a huge effort to try to play the game. He wants to be there to help his teammates in that kind of game. It's more day by day, week by week, game by game, to see how he is. Enzo Maresca on the game against Manchester United🔵 The game is dictated from the red card. When it was 10v10, we had almost 70% possession. I hope we don't have any more games with 10 players after 3-4 minutes. Enzo Maresca🔵 Anyone can say what they decide to say, it's not a problem. I think we improved a lot last season. We closed the gap. This season, the main target, is to continue to improve the players and team, and close the gap. Enzo Maresca on Benoit Badiashile and Romeo Lavia🔵 They are not back for this game, unfortunately. They both took part of the session yesterday. Hopefully they can be available soon. Enzo Maresca🔵 In this moment, Dario and Romeo is injured, so we cannot give Moises Caicedo a rest. I don't think it's random the amount of injuries we have alluding to the Club World Cup. Enzo Maresca🔵 You can sleep very easy in these kind of games. Football is full of these games. I am very worried about that. For sure, we will have some players from the academy, like we have always done.

At the end of the day, as I discussed with Jordan Peterson, there are just two games to be played, one real, one Woke. The real game is called civilization. The false game is called power. A long post/🧵: The real divide between Woke and not Woke is in power. The Woke game is the power game, and it is a parasite on the real game, which is civilization. Here's roughly how Jordan described the foundation of this idea. There are various rules, norms, etc., in the game society ultimately plays, and these create a hierarchy that is based upon competence, mostly organically, obviously imperfectly. If the rules of the game are good enough, the imperfections (natural corruptions) are minor and society thrives. If they are not, you'll have problems. This is the real game of building society, and it ultimately has to favor competence. This game must be called "civilization" because that's not just its goal but it is also what it does. It civilizes us beyond our base instincts and impulses so we can work together productively in a healthy manner that generates prosperity. As Jordan put it, this game is also a reservoir of value, and reservoirs of value create parasites. What are these civilizational parasites? They’re parallel games organized by and around malignant psychopathological modes like Dark Tetrad traits, psychopathy, and Cluster-B disorders: histrionic, borderline, antisocial, and narcissistic. These malignant pathologies render people incompetent except at manipulation, so they cannot rise far in a healthy civilizational hierarchy. What do they do, then, to gain power and status in life in a game they cannot actually play? They define a parasitic parallel game and rope people into playing it. It is parasitic in that it draws off the real game (civilization) and mimics its form so that the hosts (people in society) are less likely to realize it’s there, but it doesn’t build or create of its own. It siphons and tears down. What drives this game is failing to see what makes the civilizational game and the hierarchy it produces legitimate in the first place. This is characteristic of the psychopathologies at its heart. The narcissist imagines the world should be serving himself at the top, but it isn’t. The problem can’t be himself, so it must be that the game is illegitimate. Otherwise, he’d be at the top, but he isn’t. Therefore, the game is corrupt. His histrionic nature makes him a victim of the real game, preying upon emotions like empathy and righteous indignation to recruit followers. Because of his Dark Tetrad alignment, his game is not only illegitimate but toxic. It’s inherently sadistic, cruel to its recruits in the way typical of all cults—alternating punishment and leniency or even love-bombing. It’s dishonest. It’s psychologically broken from reality. It’s also a Machiavellian game, which means it has no interest in moral or ethical behavior but only in power. Thus, this rival game to the game of civilization is the game of power. The parasitic game—that is, the power game—is based on a fundamental failure to understand the legitimacy of the civilizational game or the approximately legitimate hierarchy it produces. This is a result of its narcissism, mostly. The game cannot be legitimate because the psychopath isn’t on top of it, where he sees himself constantly as a projection from his frail ego. It sees power in the real hierarchy, though, which it can perceive and understand, and for which it blames most of its troubles. What this means is that the (Woke) power game develops a critical theory of the existing legitimate civilization game. That’s why Woke means “using critical theory (and activism).” A critical theory exists not to articulate a vision—at least not beyond a Utopia after the cult power game holds power to enforce its power game long enough—but to “criticize those aspects of the existing society we wish to change,” as Max Horkheimer, creator of the Critical Theory, put it. The critical theory of the power game exists to recruit by delegitimizing the civilization game in the minds of some of its players, usually ones who aren’t succeeding as well. It picks at “contradictions,” failures, and imperfections while casting the whole civilization game as corrupt and unjust. It offers itself as the only alternative to civilization game while pulling at the threads of the civilization game that allow people to believe in it. It all proceeds from the Woke failure to understand the legitimacy of the hierarchy of the civilization game as it proceeds from its set of rules. Misunderstanding legitimacy leads it to conclude that all hierarchies are actually based in power, and all power is fundamentally arbitrary. That is, they do not believe all power is illegitimate. They believe power is the only legitimate thing in any hierarchy, but they also believe that power is located in persons like themselves through their narcissism and projection. Think of Voldemort as an icon of this mode of thinking: “there is no good or evil, only power and those too weak to seek it.” Of course, that quintessential Dark Tetrad perspective is what ensures the psychopathological power game will be rigged to make sure the psychopaths are attracted to it and rise to its top. This belief is what we call Woke. The Woke game is the power game, and it is a parasitic competitor to the civilization game. There is no overlap between these two games. To adopt the power game is to abandon the civilization game entirely and, in fact, to become its enemy. But James, you might ask, isn’t there power in civilization? Yes, there is, and necessarily, but it isn’t what defines the civilization game. It’s a byproduct of the game, not the game itself. The civilization game is fundamentally the building out of an organic and dynamic hierarchy based on a set of rules, or what some people call “muh principles,” that will succeed or fail for that civilization in direct proportion to three things. 1) How aligned with the truth are the rules of the civilization game? 2) How aligned with justice are the rules of the civilization game? 3) How willing are the participants of the civilization game to defend their principles and their game, including against socio-parasitical perversion? The more aligned with truth and justice a civilization game is, the more successful it will be, and the more legitimate its hierarchy. The power that results as a byproduct is extremely legitimate in a highly aligned civilization where people haven’t forgotten their charge to defend the game itself, which is what we call responsibility. A civilization game strongly aligned with truth and justice filled with a preponderance of responsible people will produce a thriving, prosperous society. It only works this way every time. Not everyone is responsible, though. Some are also incompetent because of various pathologies (not talking about for other reasons). Those pathological players may, under certain circumstances, create a parasitic side game with themselves on top through a variety of strategies that mimic the values and principles of the real game while distorting them into power plays because their game is power, as discussed above. They will recruit into that game primarily from those who are resentful of the real game for any variety of reasons, and getting recruited into the power game from the civilization game is called “going Woke.”

Inspired by Grok as a developer and a heavy gamer for over 15 years, I spent some time last week building a few things. Thrilled to unveil my latest creation: an infinite runner game built almost entirely by Grok from xAI! This project showcases the incredible power of AI in game development. Grok handled everything—from designing the game mechanics to writing the code and even helping me debug issues along the way. I brought it to life using some amazing free assets from a treasure trove for indie developers. You can play the game now at Elon Musk, I’d be honored if you checked it out. AI is revolutionizing game development, and Grok is at the forefront with its outstanding capabilities. It’s more than a tool—it’s like a tireless co-developer. Grok grasps complex concepts, provides suggestions, and turns rough ideas into working code fast. For this infinite runner, it crafted smooth player controls, randomized obstacle generation, and an engaging scoring system, letting me focus on the overall vision. And cross_protocol, founded by Henry @ONE is set to harness AI’s full potential in gaming, pushing the boundaries even further. This is just the beginning. With Grok’s help, I’m planning future projects: 1) Physics-based puzzle game where players tweak gravity and momentum to solve puzzles 2) 2D RPG with deep storytelling and branching dialogue 3) Fast-paced 3D shooter with immersive worlds Each genre requires unique skills, but Grok’s versatility makes it ideal for all of them. It adapts to any challenge—be it physics simulations, character AI, or level design—producing results that could rival a full dev team. AI like Grok is opening up creative doors I couldn’t tackle alone, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Stay tuned for more.

UPDATE | Christopher Dring: Xbox is possibly spending below $200 million on PHYSINT Before that, a quick note about last week’s podcast. During the chat (not the newsletter), I mentioned that Hideo Kojima was reportedly seeking $400 million for his game PHYSINT. Now, regular listeners will know the ‘report’ I am talking about was just some rumors floating around Tokyo Game Show (I mentioned it in that week’s Here’s The Dring newsletter). It was nothing more than that. Anyway, it got picked up by the internet and I quickly had to clarify that it’s just a rumour, and not something I’d stake my reputation on. However, actually do now know now roughly exactly what Xbox is paying for PHYSINT and it's less than half that rumored number. Maybe the $400 million figure is what PlayStation were being quoted. Maybe PlayStation wanted different things. I don't know. It's all speculation. via: The Game Business

First Impression About Neverness To Everness CBT This will be a long or short one and I mostly have plenty of good to say about the game so far and some bad. First I want to get out the way: Graphics In short, we already know its good! But this is definitely playing some part on performance on my end and it wasn't entirely bad experience at all just some fps drops here and there but its playable and 90% of time it was smooth so the performance issues is a easy fix (apart from some I've seen have already started having crash issues so it'll be different for all of us depending on your specs) I'm well in range of the specs so if I'm having some small issues that mean whoever has worse specs will have it worse. Performance/Optimizing the game etc is not something that should be ignored anyway and most of the time developers of recent time feel like they don't care about improving it, I hope NTE by release or during the test will fix the issues by then (crash problems etc + its day one of the test anyway) Second: Combat Just like wuthering waves, the games combat is fun (I still think it can benefit more on having more effects/impact frames etc to really nail the combat experience...) I know people have compared some characters to WuWa characters as "plagirism" but most part alot of characters in the game have their own charm and uniqueness to the combat The boss enemies also may have some unpredictable patterns and can put alot of pressure or aggression on you but isn't exactly too hard thankfully! But its still great because I like how fast pace and intense the fightings are when your in the boss fights Common enemies don't have much going on for them. Third: Story Unlike Genshin and Wuthering Waves the story for NTE or Neverness to Everness is actually more "Human" one of my viewers described it as and I actually agree, I'm not saying WuWa nor Genshin storytelling is bad but the way NTE tells its story is more morden and you can easily be engaged with it and understand everything clearly! The story is also pretty goofy and just like zenless they have great animations and (VERY) expressive with their animations which makes for great overall experience and I prefer this storytelling the most out of other games. (this is a personal preference) The gacha system is some sort of board game but the game gacha is F2P friendly?(For now for what I've seen) and there's no 50/50.. I was also almost able to max out alot of characters that aren't S rank in almost a day too Thats all so far, I'm still experiencing more as I go but this sums up my 5 hours so far into the game on stream and would love to see y'all in the next stream tomorrow. After I reach 50 hours or more I will do a video in conclusion about the game and what more I would love to see. TDLR: The game is good/great don't worry, just some small stuff that can make it better or some stuff that need fixing (despite the combat plagirism drama that was going on)

I'm taking interactivity with the game to a whole new level baby! 🚀 Experience The sims 4 in ways you've never experienced before. And this is just scratching the surface of what could be done with this. This feature will be available in the Nights Of Terror mod on release, but I will also be implementing it to my other mods such as the Extreme Violence & Zombie Apocalypse mod. Some of the other possibilities: 🪁 •Shooting hoards of zombies using your mouse. •Murdering sims using your mouse. •Defending your sim from a killer by helping them break free from their attack using your mouse. And many many more...
