Someone on Reddit just built a AAA-quality snow simulation in their browser. Using Claude Opus 5. Millions of snow particles. A character in a robe with cloth physics. Five water-based spells that carve the terrain. A snow surfing system with a wake that throws spray into sunlight. Every footstep...

Ya this is not a game, nor is it AAA quality. Pretty cool demo though.

This is the equivalent of one shooting a website. It will fall apart as soon as you start to try to scale it, customise it with precise requirements and build on it further. It looks cool though.

Shortcut if others want to try F1 - settings WASD - movement 1-5 - spells RMB or Space - surf

It wasnt one shot. The creator used a base prompt + 100 messages after to work out bugs etc.

“Millions of snow particles” 😂. Its not how it works

Maybe the triple AAA quality was the friends we made along the way.

An experienced dev would put this level of quality in a single evening, not a small studio in a whole month, if the dev would use an engine and assets , anyway as complexity stacks the AI would end up hitting a brick wall pretty early on

"This is the kind of thing a small studio would spend months building." lets not get ahead of ourselves now

That’s not a not millions of particles (impossible in real time, especially via WebGPU). It’s height field based by the looks of it with some sprites for the spray phase. The prompt is a full on engineering pitch. Cool nonetheless, Opus 5 rocks.

At this pace we have an AI generated browser version of GTA6 before GTA6

You buried the benchmark in the bill: four million tokens and nine hours. "One detailed prompt" skips a full workday of automated iteration, screenshot feedback, and compute. Impressive build, fairy-tale accounting.

Where are the millions of snow particles, it's just deformation/height map changes wherever the char walks

New ssx type beat on this would be nice

And here you are still stealing content and posting it with the most lazy AI text on X to earn a few dollars from engagement.

Nine hours, four million tokens, and you still led with one prompt. That framing is doing more physics than the shaders.

are you sure it didn't just clone one of dozens of available github repos and download the snow? ☃️

Love seeing things like this , I then screenshot it and then can later add it to my projects if I need them

Stop behaving like an AI expert, you are the most misinformed, clout chasing person in this entire space.

9 hours for something that would normally take months is wild. Whether you're an indie dev or a studio, tools like this could completely change how fast ideas become playable.

Now make it an actual game , and evolve it . Totally different story

Why do this in webgpu though? That makes it very hard to expand / reuse.

Nine hours to a working prototype is wild. AI isn't replacing game development, it is compressing the iteration loop.
