The manufacturer states the top speed Lin level flight is 544mph. This plane had dropped in altitude so the top speed is higher. Not sure where your dude got his information

A simple search proves a 767 cannot achieve more than 300mph at 300mtrs above sea level. At one klm it can reach up to 500mph high it goes the faster it gets,
