I feel like trains always sound like this Have I just always been around broken train tracks? 😅

This is why train wheels are not perfectly cylindrical, but slightly conical

I went to the shelter to adopt a cat today, but I'm not sure which one to take home I think I know which one😂❤️

That's not broken. There are break lines in the metal, its not a solid piece. Trains operate on lines like this all the time. It will need maintenance, but this is normal

Learning physics is so difficult... But seeing physics in real life is so beautiful

Absolutely working as intended. Did you know that the SR-71 Blackbird leaks fuel until it flies fast enough to heat up the outer skin so it will expand and seal the cracks? Engineers are a different breed.

this is what jointed rail looks like on concrete ties. this retard put a rock under the rail to make it seem worse than it is.

That’s jointed rail not ribbon rail. That’s how all old track used to be. Those are angle bars tying it together. If it was a broken rail they wouldn’t be going that fast

Rail isn't broken. Several tie clips which hold rail to the tie plates are missing. This is not welded rail the joints are bolted together with the fish plates in the picture.

Probably shouldn’t have as much play, but the rock placed under the track which get pulverized gives the impression the concrete sleeper is breaking.

Ok, guys, a fundamental question... They leave that small gap between the rails for expansion. But aren't the fish plate bolts slammed down so tight, there's no way the expanding rail could move to close the gap?

The train was stuck in the middle of the bridge due to pressure leak, then the loco pilots fixed it like this.

that is what a bolted track sounds like , if it was broken the train would be on the ground

Chris W profil fotoğrafı

This isn’t broken, if it was the train would derail. It’s a worn joint, if it wasn’t for the fishplate there would be an issue. Without maintenance those plates will break then it would be a broken track.

Nice visual trick. Put a soft rock that breaks up giving the visual appearance that the track is about to fail.

And a videographer is cringing. The camera moving like that is definitely not the intended outcome and probably put the camera at risk of being hit

Sounds about right, engineer stressing the practicality, professor loving the theory in action.

Somewhere in India, an Indian is envious of the camera's intimate closeness to the locomotive. Beautiful.
