Magistrates and Judges in South Carolina are chosen by the legislature, not the governor. If the system is broken, the legislature is the body responsible for fixing it. Nancy Mace served in the State House and did not change magistrate qualifications or the judicial selection process during her tenure, so it’s misleading to suggest this is something she could simply “require” as governor.

I don’t think it’s the lack of a law degree. Far left activist judges in other states WITH law degrees are also releasing dangerous felons. I’m a former commissioner. I’m also a social psychologist who’s developed an effective program for the early identification of abusers. Abusers are social predators. All of them are dangerous. I even teach judges how to stop being manipulated in their courts by these individuals. The last thing I would do is underestimate the danger and allow predators and psychopaths to go free.
