As Erika was checking her luggage for a Southwest flight, the gate agent decided to question her about her size. Do you need extra room? Will your arm rest go all the way down? Erika had already “upgraded” her seat so that she could have a window seat on the flight, but the gate agent and her supervisor refused to let her on unless she bought a second seat. Do you think the Southwest gate agent was right in doing so or should she have been allowed to prove that she could/couldn’t fit in the seat? Was this fat shaming or actual concern for the other passengers? I will say, Erika went toe to toe with Southwest over this issue and how it was handled. Should the policy for “plus size” passengers be displayed when purchasing airline tickets?

This woman flew from Houston to Miami on Southwest Airlines. Now she was flying out of Miami but Southwest is now telling her that her two bags that she has exceed 62 inches and she will have to pay $200 for each bag - $400 total, extra. The issue is, she flew from Houston to Miami with those same bags and they did not charge her on the first leg of the trip. She said the bags will cost more than the ticket. Some said those bags are definitely oversized and she got lucky the first time that she didn’t have to pay and if you think about it, she saved $400. So, be thankful and pay the oversized bag fees. Others said that Southwest made the error and should waive the fee because she would have had the opportunity to decide if she was going to pay or not if she knew the price when she flew from Houston to Miami. So the discourse around this Dave Ramsey clip is so mixed up that I’ve just decided to upload the whole thing. In the full context of the call, the caller makes it perfectly obvious that: 1. She has been with this man, whom she is now living with, for six years. 2. She is a nurse and can make her own money. 3. She has been out of school for two years, and in that time she has paid off $70,000 of the debt. In the course of the call, Dave never suggests that this man should have to pay for that debt. Indeed, he actively suggests that she leave him, which guarantees he will not pay for the debt. Dave also all but says that, because of her career choice, the caller will be able to pay for the debt on her own, even if she has to take extra hours. All Dave is saying—and this should have been obvious from the original clip—is that the two are not aligned on money and debt at all. It is also clear that Dave thinks the man is stringing her along, which he is. So they simply should not be married at all, because this is a fundamental failure in the relationship. I myself would add that, at this late stage in the relationship, if you do not trust a woman financially, you should simply not be with that woman. And that is perfectly fine. But what you do not do is drag her along for six years when she obviously wants to get married, and then put another two or three years of financial hoops in front of her so that maybe you will propose. It is a waste of everybody’s time.

This woman left her car plugged into the charger over 10 hours too long. Her apartment complex charges $10 an hour if anybody leaves their cars plugged in once charged. I think there needs to be rules in place so others can enjoy the benefits of having a charger on site. I also feel there needs to be respect as well. When I briefly had an EV, what was nice about the app was that once my car was charged, it notified me that it was charged. That way I was able to go and move it out of the way so I wouldn’t be charged fees. While I think it’s fair to be charged a fee, I think what would be a great compromise for these apartment complexes is that they all have to have an app accessible for anybody who uses it. That way notifications can be used an a warning. After an allocated time if the car wasn’t moved, then they can start charging people an idling fee. That’s just my opinion, I believe in rules but I think there should be a little understanding as well since life happens quick for people.
