I heard that the aliens' speeding up was originally a glitch due to (for the time) the large number of sprites moving on the screen. It was left in to challenge the player as the level went along.

This was my first purchased game, to add to my combat cartridge. I paid $20 usd and it was the best $20 allowance spend I’ve ever spent. The next 3 games were asteroids, missile command, and pac man. After that I lost track.

On the 2600, hold down reset switch, turn console off and on 3 times. You will have double shot. Try it..... you'll like it

Have that in an arcade machine sitting in my basement.
