Ethan Hawke is unbelievable in Training Day & I still believe he deserved to win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. It wouldn’t matter how great Denzel was in this film- Training Day does not work without Hawke’s brilliance. He is the glue that holds this film together.

Spike Lee’s Inside Man should be mentioned as one of Spike’s best films ever. Denzel is incredibly magnetic in this film- I think it’s one of his best post-Training Day performances. The entire cast is also excellent, from Clive Owen to Chiwetel Ejiofor to Willem Dafoe & Jodie Foster. That’s all without mentioning the late Christopher Plummer, who himself is exceptional in this film. I truly love this movie.

Denzel Washington isn’t an awards contender for Highest 2 Lowest but that doesn’t change the fact that I really enjoyed this film & Denzel’s performance. Denzel turned 71 last week, but this was a sneaky-physical role from Washington, who’s asked to do a lot. I like this film.
