Unlike most modern combat lasers, Boobook is not primarily designed to physically destroy targets. Instead, it uses active optical technology for early detection and tracking of approaching threats, improving situational awareness and survivability for land and maritime platforms. Trials were conducted at South Australia’s Cultana Training Area and Edinburgh facility. The system combines more than two decades of laser research by Australia’s Defence Science and Technology Group with Mitsubishi Electric’s optical and electronic technologies. So every day that we have twenty-two percent going through the strait shut down, it's drawing down slowly all strategic reserves and the oil that's on the water in tankers. If this is going to be a prolonged situation, it'll be bad outcome. In talking just with investors as a result of this war, we're gonna be spending a whole ton of money on new inexpensive drone technology and a ton of money on AI because this war has all been done using technology. This is a tech war and it gives you a kind of an idea of what it would look like if China acted up and they wanted to take out Taiwan. We've got to get ready with more AI.

Lost in some of the discussion sometimes is a need to acknowledge that Israel is today a rapidly growing country, it’s very strong, it has a dynamic economy, and when some argue it is existentially threatened or make it seem like this is still the 1950s in terms of the strategic challenges, the reality needs to be said clearly; Israel’s challenge in the future is managing its growing strength.
