As someone who is ignorant to PC performance stuff, how do you know lower end machines will do better with TSR or whatever they use? Did they have any lower end machines for reference? I just don’t see myself upgrading soon.

I was hesitant to get excited, but I feel it creeping up on me now that we have an official steam page

You’d hope so with the specs in the machines they gave you folks play on. 😅

Get real. The system you played on, provided for by CIG was a TOP TIER SYSTEM, with the *best* hardware available. This will likely NOT be the case when the game is played by the average person, due to their personal build/budget/system. Stop shilling. BE HONEST.

You didn’t watch the video

@SHTFSeries I watched the video. You can speculate how well it will perform on lower tier system but adjusting the graphics down to LOW, on a 5090 and a 9800X3D will look quite different than, say a 3060TI on low. Even still, top tier system, probably empty except for SQ42 isn’t a good test.

Yeah from what I gathered aren't the demos ran on a 5090?

Very impressed with this. Excited to hear more. Can you share if the graphics menu has that Resident Evil style comparison screen to show you what you're gaining by turning something ON or OFF?

With a 5090?

Pretty much 4K resolution? I don't know what that means. Also a 5090 is prohibitively expensive for most people. Let's come down out of super computer range, talk about the actual resolution and get somewhere in this conversation.

Thats why they're showcasing it behind closed doors right? 🤣🤣

Imma be real here I think we're gonna be highly disappointed in the performance once it's released. Then there gonna say some bullshit on why it runs bad or some shit.

I'm sorry, but I will call BS on 180FPS at 4K native. What you call "StarAA" will very likely be a variant of FSR tweaked to be optimised for StarEngine. It is totally possible CIG got their hands on the FSR4 code before it got pulled (AMD published on github by accident) and under the MIT license they'd be permitted to use it. For one, a game like SQ42 does not need to run 1440p with more than a consistent 60 fps, there is no real benefit to a higher framerate and 4K is mostly an irrelevant resolution as there is no benefit to running at it when you are sitting 80-100cm from a 32 inch screen. It would be great if the game runs well at 4K for the relative few that run that resolution, but IMO CIG should target that steady 60 fps at 1440p. At that target, an object will move in about .3 mm increments per frame on a 32inch monitor, which is very likely less than what the average player will even be able to distinguish.
