Sakura has a lot of gifts, being able to pick up on romantic signals/body language is not one of them. Which I like, since it makes her very believable as a ten-year-old. Tomoyo's face at the end says it all.

That the second generation lesbian that lost, the mother of Tomoyo was into the mother of Sakura, she had to settle for a man cause that was normal in that time period. And the daughter lost too sadly

Tomoyo likely had to to process a lot of complicated and painful thoughts in order to embrace the fact her feelings were unrequited. I know nothing about romantic love as I am aroace so can only imagine how harsh it can be to rewire all those sentiments into full acceptance.
