Islamic scriptures, tradition and classical law contain commands to fight and subjugate unbelievers, and to kill apostates. They permit the enslavement of non-Muslim captives and their use as sexual property. These have never been formally repealed. They remain the position of all four Sunni schools, and they are still issued as religious rulings today. The troubling point is not that every Muslim acts on these texts. Plainly they do not. Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.

A Church of England primary school in Lincolnshire is facing serious backlash after children as young as seven were asked to take part in Islamic prayer movements during a Religious Education lesson. For many parents, this raises real concerns. There’s a clear difference between teaching children about different religions and asking them to physically take part in religious practices. Education should inform not cross the line into participation. This is a Christian country with a long-standing cultural and religious heritage, and many are now questioning whether that identity is being respected within the school system. Parents send their children to school expecting them to learn, not to be placed in situations that may conflict with their own beliefs or values. it’s about boundaries, respect, and choice. Children, especially at such a young age, should not feel pressured to take part in any form of religious practice that they or their families may not agree with. Where do we draw the line? Ukrainian diplomats and the Ukrainian Canadian Community have expressed really grave concerns about that film and I do want to say I share those concerns. We have to be really clear that this is a war where there is no moral equivalency this is a war of Russian aggression this is a war where Russia is breaking international law and committing war crimes. There is very clearly good and evil in this war. Ukrainians are fighting for their sovereignty and for democracy around the world and we as a country have to be very, very clear that there can be no moral equivalency in our understanding of this conflict. Thank you to the many residents of York-Durham who have written to me about this. I will keep fighting against the kinds of attacks on personal freedom the government has introduced in Bills C-2, C-8, and C-9.

You may not agree with me, but you will always know where you stand with me. Today in Billericay, a heckler tried to shout me down as I spoke about the normalisation of hatred towards Jews. I did not back down, because it needs to be said. British Jews are being targeted and too many people are pretending this is the same experience of other minorities. This lady implied Muslims are being similarly targeted. This is simply not true. Let's be honest about what is happening. Certain groups (in particular but not solely Islamic Extremists) are creating a climate of fear and intimidation that is normalising Jew hatred. I will never stand for that. Governments have spent too long hand-wringing, making excuses and hoping it would go away. It is time to call this what it is: a national emergency in our attitude, our urgency and our response. I will always engage with people who disagree with me. That is politics. But there is a difference between argument and intimidation. Shouting does not make a bad case good. It's done to silence others. And it certainly does not change the truth. The truth is that British Jews have been made to feel less safe in their own country. Our country. They are being singled out, threatened and harassed in ways that should shame everyone in public life. If we do not stand up now and stop this rise in antisemitism, then why bother saying "Never Again" at Holocaust Memorial Day? Because this is how it starts. I am not prepared to play along with the pretence that this is normal, or manageable, or just another example of tension between groups. It really is not. It is targeted hatred and it is getting worse. So my message is simple. Not here. Not in Britain. And not on our watch. We need to stop the hand-wringing and start doing the right thing. That means standing with British Jews openly, unapologetically and without fear.

Broken Windows Theory is a way of giving an intellectual grounding for your objections to the state of urban decay in many major cities in America. As I alluded to earlier, there's a public campaign that is asking you not to care about what happens to our cities. It is asking you not to care that people sleep in public, that people sell sex, that people do drugs. It is saying that you should not notice those things, that is arbitrary, racist, and unjust. And my argument is that actually you, as a member of the community with an equal right to enjoyment of the public and public space, have every legitimate and objective reason to say, "No, I don't need to put up with that and I don't need to vote for people, I don't need to endorse political projects that hold that as a legitimate view." Broken windows theory was successful because it's true, but also because it gave advocates of law and order a reason and an argumentative justification for reclaiming their cities—in the 1990s, for saying, "We don't need to put up with what New York City is like. We can and should demand better than this." Public disorder really does strike at the heart of our society. The community really does have an interest in keeping the peace over and above endless criminal license. We recognize that for hundreds of years in this country, [as did] our legal forefathers, because it's true. This is not a university in some Islamic country. This prayer was held at UCLA in California. Perhaps some think this is a harmless prayer, something that we can understand as freedom of religion. And just that is a mistake that could destroy the West. This is not a private matter, this shows how hard they could weigh on political decisions. This religious display of power has no place in a university. Praying with such a large group is a manifestation of power which falls under the political piece of Islam. Islam is gaining ground thanks to its presence in everyday life. It’s not just confined to the private sphere as it is with other religions. The words "Allahu akbar" recur every time in a prayer to remind people that "Allah is the greatest" of all gods. In Arabic, "kabir" means "great", "akbar" means "GREATEST". With such manifestations, they want to show their power. And they want to show that they will dominate. This is far from innocent, time to wake up.

As a Pakistani Muslim, I can say this with hand on my heart, if anyone did this to my kids in a school where they’re supposed to learn maths, science, and other academic subjects (not religious studies), I wouldn’t just be angry I’d campaign to make sure it never happens again. We have Muslims trying to force headscarves and religious practices onto kids at school, and as someone who attended an Islamic religious school, I can say with conviction that I don’t want these lunatics teaching my kids about religion. I want my kids to just be kids. If anything, I believe in being a role model for my children, not letting some brainwashed Islamist fill their heads with religious doctrine. I’m also ashamed of the non-Muslim parents proudly putting headscarves on their children as if they’ve achieved something. Let’s be clear, the UK is and always will be a Christian country. I’d love to see how many Muslims would be okay with their kids being forced to wear a nun's dress and a Christian cross or being taught about Christianity. Let’s not pretend, if Muslim kids were taken to a church or a Hindu temple and forced to pray, there would be uproar. So why is it acceptable to randomly start teaching kids about Islam and forcing them to pray? Religion and God are personal matters. If you feel the need to show off your faith to others, maybe take a hard look in the mirror and figure out whether you’re praying for God or for public sympathy. There are already enough problems in this country without worrying about our kids being brainwashed without our permission. The whole education system is doomed when you have criminals going into schools to teach kids how to be good human beings. Let’s focus on raising decent, respectful kids, not forcing them into religious practices they didn’t choose. Let us live in peace, and you live in peace. This is the UK, respect it.
