I am utterly disgusted. Jess Phillips has shown she is not the champion for women and girls that I once believed her to be. As the Safeguarding Minister for Women and Girls, her duty is to protect the most vulnerable in our society, yet she has chosen to toe the party line instead of pushing for a full investigation into the grooming gangs. A STRONG CONDEMNATION WITHOUT INCITING VIOLENCE What happened in Mwiki is beyond disgusting. A young girl was brutalized, tied up, raped, and filmed and instead of facing the full force of the law, the suspect allegedly manipulated corrupt officers and walked out on a KSh 1,000 drunk and disorderly charge. That is not just negligence it is a grave miscarriage of justice. This must be condemned in the strongest terms possible. RONALD NGATIA must be RE-ARRESTED immediately and charged appropriately not protected, not hidden, not recycled back into society. The officers who mishandled the case must also be investigated.

If these allegations are true, that is not “activism.” That is violent extremism. Planning attacks on federal agents crosses every possible line. There is no political justification for that. None. The solution is not judicial leniency, cultural excuses, or “cultural defenses” that allow offenders to escape full accountability simply because they come from countries or cultures with different norms. Laws that protect individual rights must take clear and absolute precedence over any conflicting cultural practices or claims of ignorance. Not all cultures are equal. Not all legal systems are equal. The only law that applies is the law of the land, the one that upholds natural rights, which are the only genuine rights. Judges need to do the right thing. The problem is not Islam. The problem is radical extremist movements that hijack religion for power and violence. If we refuse to name that reality, extremists win twice: once through terror, and again by poisoning how an entire faith is perceived. Islam itself forbids forced belief and the killing of innocent people. The Quran says, “There is no compulsion in religion” (2:256). Extremism is not faith.
