If these allegations are true, that is not “activism.” That is violent extremism. Planning attacks on federal agents crosses every possible line. There is no political justification for that. None. Anyone plotting violence against law enforcement should face the full weight of the law. Disagreement with policy is one thing. Terrorism is another. The solution is not judicial leniency, cultural excuses, or “cultural defenses” that allow offenders to escape full accountability simply because they come from countries or cultures with different norms. Laws that protect individual rights must take clear and absolute precedence over any conflicting cultural practices or claims of ignorance. Not all cultures are equal. Not all legal systems are equal. The only law that applies is the law of the land, the one that upholds natural rights, which are the only genuine rights. Judges need to do the right thing. Iran is not a talking point. It is not a “counter-narrative.” It is not a chess piece in your anti-Western worldview. A part of the left has decided that as long as a group or a regime is anti-West, its crimes and atrocities don’t count. That logic has led them to excuse Hamas and whitewash the Islamic Republic of Iran. You cannot claim to stand for liberation while defending organizations that murder civilians, suppress women, torture dissidents, and rule through fear. That isn’t solidarity, it’s moral collapse. If your compassion switches off when the victims don’t fit your narrative, then you’re not defending justice. The Chief Justice is right in stating that sexual offences should and will not be handled in AJS. This a necessary affirmation of the dignity, safety and rights of survivors. Rape, defilement, sodomy and domestic violence are not disputes but crimes. You do not negotiate trauma. You prosecute it. AJS has its place in our justice system, for commercial disputes, neighbourhood conflicts, restorative processes where parties bargain from relatively equal power. But in sexual and gender‑based violence, the power imbalance is structural and brutal. The law cannot tell a survivor to sit across the table from their abuser and bargain away accountability. We have seen the damage when sexual offences are pushed into informal settlements. Silence, intimidation, family agreements that erase the survivor and entrench impunity. Communities are pressured to protect the perpetrator’s name, not the survivor’s future. When the court abdicates to such processes, it abandons its constitutional duty to protect the vulnerable. Saying no AJS for sexual offences is, therefore, a line in the sand. Some harms are so grave that the State must speak, investigate, and prosecute loudly and clearly. Article 27 on equality, Article 28 on human dignity, Article 29 on freedom and security of the person all demand more than compromise, they demand justice. Survivors deserve a courtroom that believes them, not a backroom that bargains them away. #HakiNaImani

When people around the world repeatedly see terrorist organizations like ISIS, Al Qaeda, or the Muslim Brotherhood, among others, using religious language while slaughtering innocent people, fear spreads because evil is being falsely wrapped in faith. The problem is not Islam. The problem is radical extremist movements that hijack religion for power and violence. If we refuse to name that reality, extremists win twice: once through terror, and again by poisoning how an entire faith is perceived. Islam itself forbids forced belief and the killing of innocent people. The Quran says, “There is no compulsion in religion” (2:256). Extremism is not faith. It is a political ideology hiding behind religion. Free societies can confront radical extremism while defending innocent lives and religious freedom at the same time.
