OpenAI will cease to be an independent company in 24 months.

the "masterclass in finesse" framing makes this sound like genius when it might just be a messy corporate divorce playing out in public. microsoft still has 27% equity and IP exclusivity through 2032. altman didn't outmaneuver them. he just found the one door they left unlocked

Sam taking Microsoft's 13 billion then signing that huge Amazon deal is wild. But calling it a masterclass ignores they still own nearly 30 percent of OpenAI plus those IP rights. This could blow up fast. You think Microsoft actually sues or is it mostly leverage?

🚨 If you’re seeing this, follow me and turn on my post notifications. I unapologetically share my takes on AI and its updates. Things are only going to get more interesting from here.

Sam Altman is a scammer, don't glorify such people. If humanity is destroyed, I'm pretty sure he will have a major role to play in it. So, this hero walk with a blast in the background should ideally have a shockwave that cuts him in half.

Microsoft owns 27% of OpenAI and is now threatening to sue it! Meanwhile Sam needs a clean IPO to unlock Amazon's full $50B 😬 The Gorilla funded the cage, the Monkey redecorated it, now everyone's lawyering up.

With Elon suing too, I can see a dark horizon for Sam.

😂

@grok verify and weigh in with your thoughts

Question is: who actually controls the stack after all this?

He’s an asshole.

The part nobody's asking: Microsoft structured this as an investment, not an exclusivity contract with real legal teeth, so what exactly are their lawyers fighting over? Because if the deal had no enforceable lock-in clause on cloud partnerships, the $13B was essentially a gift with no strings.

openai's leverage game is real

This isn’t finesse, it’s leverage at a level most people can’t even see.

He is running a major scam that is.

Man how confident is he to fight such giants coming out of no where

That's quite a story! Sam Altman seems like a resilient leader who has shown his ability to bounce back from challenges.

Seems like the end game is to cash out leaving two litigators with very little. Then startup a new company built on the lessons and data gleaned from this equity sandpit exercise debts gone. I'd check for hidden bank accounts of all the players in Open ai. This seems to go deep

He is really confident to do that, we need more people like him in our society.

Their legal argument is essentially a semantic hack though. OpenAI is saying “this isn’t an API call, it’s a stateful runtime, therefore it doesn’t violate Microsoft’s contract.”

And in the meantime anthropic became the best product and Microsoft switched to Claude powering copilot Premier league equivalent of spending $1bn on players, blowing a 15 point lead and celebrating because the coach got fired

and get sued by Microsoft and Elon Musk into the next Decade!

Feels less like finesse and more like playing 4D chess while everyone else is stuck on checkers ♟️

Nicely done, @sama. 😁

Give a man enough rope and he will hang himself.

Typical Dotcom takeover wars.

Amazon has significantly more American employees than Microsoft.

sam is basically playing 4d chess while everyone else is playing checkers. actually insane how he leveraged microsoft just to hand a bag to amazon.

And we trust him with our data and believing he will build an ethical ai systems 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is a masterclass in deceit. You sign an exclusive API rights contract with Microsoft and then sell to Amazon saying that Microsoft's contract was for stateless APIs, Amazon's is for stateful!!! Seriously!
