@BartEhrman Straightforward arguments by @BartEhrman demonstrating why Islam is wrong.

is also convinced that Jesus was crucified. He calls it “one of the most certain facts of history” (quoted from his lecture series, Historical Jesus). The Qur’an however says Jesus was never crucified, that it only “appeared so” (Surah 4:157). Why would you quote a man who affirms the historical claim of the Gospels (the Crucifixion) and therefore directly contradicts aLLah's own words? Your strategy to wound Christianity now forces Islam into a dilemma of your own making: either Ehrman is a reliable historical authority - which means Surah 4:157 got the Crucifixion wrong. and the Qur'an is therefore ahistorical - or he isn't reliable, which means Islam can only attack Christian claims through channels you yourself don't trust. Either way, the validity of the Cross remains unchallenged. The validity of the Qur'an does not. You and other Muslims quoting Ehrman helped to make this happen. Good job. 🙏

@BartEhrman He claimed to be The Son of Man who recieves worship from all nations?

@BartEhrman But hes wrong Peter says Matthew 16:16, saying:"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Essentially calling Jesus God by association In context its clear

@BartEhrman Now Christians will bring up Bart’s clip where he says Jesus was crucified. These people are dumb enough to not understand that in that verse Quran makes two claims, a historical one and a supernatural one. The historical claim was, in fact, that people saw him being crucified.

This is false. Jesus told the Pharisees that He and the Father are one. He referred to Himself as the Son of Man, a divine reference from Daniel, and in Mark, largely considered to be the least direct of the synoptic gospels in referring to Jesus' divine nature, there is a messianic reference to Jesus in every chapter....

@BartEhrman Funny you guys don’t appeal to Bart Ehrman when he says Islam is bullshit lol

@BartEhrman Absolute nonsense. Jesus said he was God in Matthew Mark and Luke. Best example in both Mark, Matthew and Luke, Jesus was asked if he was the Christ, Son of the Blessed, Jesus replied "I am, and you will see the Son of Man..." It's all there

Thats not a straight forward argument, its built on atheistic presuppositions. Jesus clearly wants us to come to a certain conclusion about who he is though apparently only God the Father may reveal it. St Peter gets it right when questioned by Jesus. 'Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven' Matt 16:16,17.

@BartEhrman Jesus said: “What things soever He [the Father] doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” No one can claim they do the same what God does. Also, Jesus said ALL authority is given to Him in heaven and on earth. Jesus is God. Case closed.

@BartEhrman He also says that Jesus was definitely crucified. Don't quote bart he is not an ally to Islam either lol

@BartEhrman Bart is an atheist. Psalm 14:1 The fool says in his heart there is no God. I don't listen to fools when it comes to theology.

@BartEhrman Academics have said the first followers of Jesus did not think he was God. This is a Christian scholar James D. Tabor who said that his followers did not believe he was God: Did Jesus' first followers think he was God? With Dr. James Tabor (part 1):

@BartEhrman Mike Winger debunked all of these claims. Do yourself a favor and watch it.

@BartEhrman I'm against this type of debate with Christians. We both believe in God and want to do good in this world. What's the point of this pointless debate that will only result in hatred and animosity?

@BartEhrman Salvation in the afterlife is a good reason. As long as one is not vile when presenting arguments, there is no good reason to hold back from share the truth.

@BartEhrman Debate never works almost, it is counterproductive

@BartEhrman This isn't a debate. It's an interview.

@BartEhrman Keep cozing up with Dunn and Erhman who have even a worse view of the Quran and its attempt at retelling history.

@FullmetalTheist @BartEhrman

@BartEhrman BART Ehrman also said it’s a certainty Jesus died by crucifixion , you agree ?

@BartEhrman It’s like he’s never read the documents he knows so intimately well. He’s actually a joke.

@BartEhrman Farid as usual is cherry picking to suit his narative. Taqqia from muslims is a common and halal tactic.

@BartEhrman Weird as in Matt 4.7 Jesus is basically telling Satan that he is his Lord and God. LMAO

@BartEhrman mudslimes still think erhman is their friend💀💀💀

@BartEhrman

@BartEhrman BART Erhman believes that Jesus was crucified and that the replacement story is later fabrication

@BartEhrman Weird that you would use a man who compared the quran as no better than a phonebook and that Jesus was indeed Crucified.

@BartEhrman Do you affirm by your Allah that Lord Jesus declared Himself to be the Son of God before witnesses in our Gospel?

@BartEhrman Do you know what he said about the Qur'an and Mohammed? Bunch of rubbish

@BartEhrman It's always baffling to me how muslims/christians defer to secular scholars to debunk each other, but will call that same type of scholar a useless charlatan when it comes to their own views.

@BartEhrman Not only in John 10:30-33 but also in the earlier Synoptic Gospels (esp. Mark 14:61-64) did the high priest and authorities treat Jesus' "I am" + Son of Man/clouds statement as a DIVINE CLAIM. This directly refutes the claim that the earlier Gospels report zero such implications.

@BartEhrman so are you saying that early israelites were throwing rocks at jesus for no reason ? they threw rocks at him exactly because of this, jesus claimed to be God and they accused him of blasphemy

@BartEhrman

@BartEhrman Mark 14:62 parallels Daniel 7:13-14 in a way where Jesus is clearly claiming to be God

@BartEhrman Q is a theoretical interpretation that liberal scholars want to turn to, but there’s no supporting reference just like the Quran Q is like Quran interesting that it uses the letter Q cause there’s no support in reference
