@CosmicSkeptic If Ehrman's interpretation were correct, then the objection would have been "this is not the temple and this man is not a priest." But no, they jump straight to objecting because only God forgives sins

@CosmicSkeptic So basically, you side with the Pharisees instead of when Jesus corrects them and says that the "Son of Man" can also forgive sins. YHVH (God) is not a Son or a man, so to leap the conclusion that the Pharisees are right, even when their father was the Devil, is ridiculous.

@CosmicSkeptic I would not say so. You might see it as the the Scribes’ reaction in Mark 2 and Jesus' response in Mark 2:10. So to "admit" is stretching it. Ehrman would argue it was about evolving Christ's character, and O'Connor would argue that in Mark Jesus' own words do not claim divinity.

@CosmicSkeptic IP you have been corrected numerous times on Mark 2 by multiple scholars. Your stubbornness and desire to be right is getting tiresome. The "Son of Man" is that higher authority. If the "Son of Man" is God, Jesus correcting the Pharisees makes no sense.
