We held a successful Tshwane Ya Tima operation targeting debt owed to the city by National Government Departments. We have a debtors book off over R1 billion, and the majority of those who owe the city are provincial and national government entities. The arm of accountability isn’t only reserved for households and businesses. We will hold our counterparts in the government with the same responsibility when it pertains to the payment for municipal services. Today’s #TshwaneYaTima operation amounted to over R18 million. We managed to collect R11.4million. Please pay your municipal debt because without revenue we are unable to deliver services. City of Tshwane Aaron Maluleka

We conducted a successful #TshwaneYaTima operation today. We had job cards valued at R8 million. This entire week we are dedicating our time to help our customers pay their debt. The financial health of the city depends on the reliable payment for services. City of Tshwane

Tshwane Mayor’s Report Card 🗞️: We held a successful #TshwaneYaTima operation targeting revenue recovery in various parts of the city. 💰Our aim is to collect revenue owed to the city by businesses, government departments and residents. Without revenue we are unable to deliver on our mandate to provide services. In April 2026, the city recovered R450 million and secured R97 million in payment arrangements under #TshwaneYaTima. 🧹In addition to revenue recovery, our focus this week is on targeted service delivery. We are conducting a two-week #ReASpana campaign in Winterveld. City of Tshwane

We’ve disconnected electricity at a reservoir owned by Johannesburg Water, in Centurion. The City of Tshwane is owed over R62 million by the entity. The original bill stood at 69,4 million, but only R7 million was paid after a final notice was issued. Disconnection actions are the last measure used by the municipality to recover revenue owed. We continue to plead with customers to honour their municipal bills. Without revenue, we are unable to deliver services to residents of Tshwane. #TshwaneYaTima City of Tshwane

We will be opening criminal cases against property owners that we found to have tampered with our municipal infrastructure to steal water and electricity. Our focus today was in Pretoria West where removed several illegal cables. Last week, we found tampering on accounts worth over R40 million. The removal of illegal connections isn’t enough without holding accountable perpetrators of illegal connections. City of Tshwane

We are in the Madibeng Municipality, North West, to disconnect electricity because this municipality owes Tshwane R20 million. The city relies on revenue to fulfil its service delivery mandate. We have job cards valued at R64 million for today’s operations, and our focus remains on collecting debt owed by government departments. City of Tshwane

We confiscated 17 municipal bins that we found inside this property. The owners only pay for 2 bins. Concerned community members had alerted the City about the property with claims that a brothel was operating with over 10 women working. We found several ladies present during our operation. #TshwaneYaTima switched off electricity at the State Information and Technology Agency (SITA) in Erasmuskloof. The agency owes us R3,2 million. It’s important that as a government we are able to collect debt owed even from our national counter parts. Municipalities are buckling under pressure. We need all consumers to pay their debt to ensure that we are able to fund service delivery. City of Tshwane

We have a debtors book that stretches to R29 billion that we need to tackle. The manager at the Sheraton Hotel says a payment can be made immediately. We don’t take chances so we switched them off. #TshwaneYaTima City of Tshwane
