Super Typhoon Bavi may already be completing her eyewall replacement cycle. What was just a few hours ago a ragged, imperfect CDO is suddenly circularizing into a symmetrical ring of pure convective ice, forcing renewed subsidence down through the eye. Core temperatures have risen to -15.76 C and are...

Category 5 Super Typhoon Bavi is about to be the strongest storm in Rota’s recorded history. Despite the formation of a clear outer eyewall, she is showing little signs of weakening. Her 901 MBAR, 23 mile-wide eye is drier and warmer than ever, reaching a torrid -10.8 C a few hours ago; and on radar, violent mesovortices are turbulently tearing through the 180 MPH eyewall, with radar velocities of ~140 MPH being observed in multiple quadrants.

This might be the pinnacle moment of the strongest El Niño in history. Pacific Super Typhoon Champi is unbelievable by every metric. A buoy just measured a ~909 MBAR pressure at the edge of her 40+ mile-wide eye, which has now reached a blistering dryness of -10.94 C. Her eyewall is a 180+ MPH (290+ kph) buzzsaw of cyclonic violence, and her CDO is a perfect Saturnian ring of icy, -110 F (-80 C) convective thunderstorms. And she is still. Getting. Stronger.

Typhoon Dolphin is undergoing a rapid core regeneration in the final moments before her 2nd landfall in Japan. In only 6 hours, her eyewall has transformed from a slushy semicircle to a fully enclosed, deep-freezing ring of icy thunderstorms. Crazy to see this kind of recovery from a storm whose eye was just completely open to the outside atmosphere.

The Sakishima Islands of Japan and northern Taiwan are the next targets for an intensifying Super Typhoon Bavi. While she is expected to weaken down from her current 155 MPH (250 kph), Bavi is a monstrous storm that will be hesitant to lose energy too rapidly. Wherever her large and powerful eyewall ultimately makes landfall could be under a major risk for life-threatening storm surge and destructive winds on Friday. If you are in Taiwan or Ishigaki, begin preparations now for a potential direct strike from this massive Typhoon, and continue monitoring all updates on Bavi’s progress.

JUST IN: Pacific Typhoon Bavi has explosively intensified into a 160 MPH (260 kph) CATEGORY 5 Super Typhoon, with her core pressure dive-bombing by 61 mbar over the last 24 hours as she becomes consumed in a spherical tsunami of -110 F (-80 C) convection. At this time, she is heading straight for Guam and the Mariana Islands.

The sun has risen over Super Typhoon Sinlaku, and the imagery is staggering. Her 896 MBAR eye is a cylindrical chamber of blistering dryness, protected by a terraced eyewall that contains 180+ MPH winds. This is a maniacal sea monster prowling the deepest waters on the planet, and at the moment, she is only getting stronger.

You are looking, right now, at the most powerful storm on the planet tonight. Typhoon Sinlaku is twisting herself into a furious and frenzied craving for evaporated heat energy over the Pacific Ocean, and she is fast approaching or already exceeding Category 5 intensity. Icy spindles are reinforcing her CDO, lightning packets are bursting throughout the eyewall, and the air pressure in her eye is absolutely tanking. This is an incredible display of explosive cyclonic intensification.

A disastrous scenario is unfolding in the Pacific today as the island of Rota is about to take a direct hit from Category 5 Super Typhoon #BAVI The estimated Winds on BAVI are sitting at an astounding 155 knots (around 180 mph), which is enough to completely devastate the island. We are witnessing an unbelievable Superstorm which is pushing the very limits of what nature will allow it to achieve. Praying for Guam and the island of Rota, which is about to see the worst of this deadly Super Typhoon.

What Super Typhoon Champi is doing right now is almost unheard of. We have seen many storms in the West Pacific achieve this kind of extreme intensity before, but few have done so with an eye and eyewall as physically massive as Champi’s. At 185 MPH (298 kph), with gusts likely over 215 MPH (345 kph) and a near-buoy confirmed eye pressure of 895 MBAR, this is one of the most ridiculous cyclonic core structures we have ever seen in the satellite era.

A hysterical detonation of lightning strikes is now electrifying the exceptionally violent core of Category 5 Super Typhoon Sinlaku. With an EWRC finally starting to take shape, this is likely the last, wrathful gasp of this monster storm’s 180 MPH (290 kph) inner eyewall.

The Joint Typhoon Warning Center must be too preoccupied with the FSU-Miami game, because they just maintained Super Typhoon Champi at the exact same 150 MPH (240 kph) intensity estimate that they had 6 hours ago. Over that time, the storm’s eye temperature has warmed by ~25 C (up to a scorching new high of -15.26 C), indicating a massive increase of sinking air. In other words, it is a literal scientific impossibility that Champi’s core pressure hasn’t fallen at all since this afternoon. Make no mistake, you are looking at a high-end Category 5 Typhoon that is as violent a pinhole-eye storm as you will ever see.

Team Dominator is heading to Taipei and likely Ishigaki, Japan to intercept Super Typhoon #Bavi, which is still a powerful category 5 typhoon after slamming Rota just north of Guam. The minimum pressure is at 908 mb. Stay tuned

Unbelievable. Melissa just surpassed Hurricane Katrina (2005) as the 7TH MOST INTENSE Atlantic Hurricane in recorded history, with her pressure now down to 901 MBAR. Her torrid eye is reaching unprecedented levels of dryness. -3.94 C at one point. The CDO is shuddering with subzero cloud tops extending more than 50,000 ft into the atmosphere. It is absolutely terrifying to think about the fact that Jamaica is just hours away from getting hit by this HISTORIC monster of a storm.

You gotta be kidding me with Super Typhoon #Bavi! This powerful tropical cyclone is forecast to continue intensifying through the WNW track toward Taiwan, and likely will impact the Sakishima Islands of southern Japan by Friday morning. This island of Ishigaki is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! We are not ruling out a detour back to Taiwan, but it appears Ishigaki is in the bulls eye of the track. Stay tuned #Dominator #stormchasing
