Upon arriving, it’s certainly busy but it’s also the most expensive I’ve ever seen it. My fiance and I decided to stay at Caesars Palace for our wedding this week in the area. We were shocked to find out that not only would you be charged 75 dollars if you put any of your own items in the fridge, but you also would have to pay 20 dollars a night for a personal fridge. This is just one small example of many ways hotels seem to want to squeeze out as much as they can from you. The WiFi is also free for up to two devices, but if you want to throw a 3rd device in, you also get charged. We also encountered nearly 400 dollars of additional fees which were not reflected in the advertised price. It makes me sad to see Vegas become one of the most expensive vacations for people.

I haven’t been inside the Rio Hotel, All-Suite Resort & Casino in Las Vegas in a while — and honestly, if you haven’t been here lately, you might not recognize it. The place has been seriously refreshed. One of the first things that hit me was keno. I completely forgot keno was still a thing, and seeing it again gave me this instant old-school Vegas flashback. It used to be everywhere, and walking through the Rio brought back that nostalgia. But this isn’t just old Vegas. They’ve revamped the colors, opened up the space, replaced the old buffet with a massive updated food hall, added a new check-in area, new restaurants, walk-up spots, new bars, and a completely redesigned circle bar right in the main casino area as you come in. Source on the ground in Texas who is participating in search and recovery in Hunt, Texas sent me this video. They told me they were just at the command post and overheard on the radio that rescuers have found another dead body. Bodies are being recovered about every 30 minutes. Officials have not officially said it’s a recovery phase, but it is now a recovery phase. It is highly unlikely they will find any more people alive from what my source on the ground who is involved in recovery efforts just told me.
