The video shows how the former CAF leader traveled in supposed units of the Baja California State Attorney General's Office and he brought security from the National Guard. The local population, with the support of former Syrian soldiers, announced the creation of an armed “Military Council for the Liberation of Syria”. The association’s statement states: “The Military Council for the Liberation of Syria sets itself the following goals: 1. Liberating the entire territory of Syria from occupiers and terrorist forces. 2. Overthrowing the HTS regime and “dismantling its repressive sectarian apparatus”. 3. Protecting the lives and property of all Syrians. 4. Rebuilding state institutions on a national and democratic basis. 5. Preparing for the return of refugees. 6. Creating a single sovereign state.”
