For years, the Syrian regime denied that captagon production happened within territories it controlled. Yet in the first three days since Assad left, we've found industrial-scale captagon trafficking and manufacturing facilities in: 1. Mazzeh Air Base (likely affiliated with the Air Force Intelligence Directorate) 2. Latakia (found at Munther al-Assad's Syria Car Trading Company) 3. Douma (found at a major production facility believed to be controlled by Maher al-Assad--equipped with all of the precursor materials you'd ever need and even pretty chandeliers!) 4. Undisclosed Location (a warehouse affilicated with Maher where captagon pills were dumped) 5. Undisclosed location (a 4th Division HQ facility where bags of captagon were found) It looks like local community members and opposition forces are incinerating pills and disassembling facilities as they identify them. However, antiquities smugglers are also highly active, with numerous cases of looting in archaeological sites dating from the Bronze Age to the late Islamic period. The traffickers then attempt to smuggle the artifacts out through Turkey. It didn't make the news, but a targeted operation carried out by Security forces in #Aleppo province led to the recovery of a large number of artifacts. They were handed over to the Aleppo Museum.

Let it be known. Sudan is the latest hub for narcotics. According to New Lines Institute: For at least a decade, Sudan has played a role in the captagon trade. Between 2015 and 2025, authorities recorded 19 seizure incidents in the country, including four laboratory busts. Sudan now stands as the southernmost point in Africa linked to captagon manufacturing, with interdiction rates on par with some of the continent’s major transit hubs. The youth is not a playground for drugs and wars. Sudanese people deserve dignity and peace. Colombia’s interference alongside Turkey and others has no longer made this war a civil war. It’s an international hub where Sudan is the center of tragedy. Starts with ISIS and Continues to the Islamist regime and RSF.
