And when they die, many Trump supporters will double down. They won’t want to say those people died for us and now we’re abandoning the mission. Stage three would involve “limited territorial control.” It would likely involve the Marines and possibly airborne units. There would be coastal areas seized. Perhaps operations against nuclear sites. It will be very difficult to walk away and leave Iran in control of that much power.

Over the past 2 days, residents protested against the possible entry of the SDF's Asayish into their communities. While key steps of the agreement between Damascus and SDF were implemented, many issues - such as the governance of Hasakah province - remain unclear. The lack of official details and transparency has created space for rumors, heightening fear in Arab-majority areas. Yesterday, a number of tribal fighters also warned that they would take up arms if the Asayish are deployed in their areas. The Pakistani Taliban have been conducting operations against Pakistani forces using small drones, which forced the military to deploy advanced counter-drone weapons. When Pakistani military centers were overrun by the Pakistani Taliban, these weapons were seized as war booty and are now in the possession of the Pakistani Taliban.
