My #SundayShare is 2 v 1 practice looking at forward passing and movement to receive. A key task is off the ball movement - players must time their run to receive in the central channel (which defenders cannot enter) to progress to the final third. Coaching points: · Positioning to receive: ideally on the half turn. · Movement off the ball: looking for space and angles to receive. · Decision-making: timing of runs and the pass. · Technique – weight of pass; also angle. · Creativity: core moves, especially blind side runs, diagonal run/straight ball and vice versa. Haiti 4-0 New Zealand - Key Analysis Haiti helped themselves to a 4-0 win & in truth, it was 4 going on 5 or 6 in my opinion. They operated in a clearer 4-4-2 than their usual 4-2-3-1 but a lot of the same fun & exciting principles: > Wingers 1v1 & Free to Roam > Underlapping Runs from 2nd CF/CM's > Fullbacks Joining Attacks at Speed Defensively, I still have concerns despite their cleansheet: > High Block Position > High-Line in Defence to Exploit > Leave Front-4 High to Transition at Speed Scotland fans should not underestimate this side. This is the set faceoff play Mike Johnson referenced in the third period. The inside winger skates under the pile and up the wall, similar to a classic over-under play. Typically, the next look would go to the high slot for the opposite winger On this attempt, Toews activates from the weak-side defence position and cuts into the slot. Finland does a good job recognizing it, as this likely would have resulted in a Grade A chance Also... a few additional examples of over-under plays with an active weak-side defenceman for reference (more down weak side flank vs cutting through slot)

Rick Carlisle is laughably good. First possession, Knicks overload the empty side action to try to stop the quick Turner PnPop when they're running hedge/recover. Sheppard relocates to get away from Mitch who has to scramble out. Then the next possession, Carlisle runs same empty side PnR but this time Sheppard sneaks behind Siakam to cut to the rim on the weak side. Knicks aren't overloading, but the cut forces the help from Mitch, miscommunication between him and Payne. Wide open Siakam 3. This Pacers team is just filthy, I love them so much.
