Talking about drones A Swedish company, AirForestry, has developed a giant drone that can quite literally steal a tree. The six-meter machine flies up to a tree, clamps onto its top, and lowers an electric saw, trimming branches along the way before cutting the trunk itself. It then lifts... show more

They had already cut down this 100-year-old Peepal tree in Ahmedabad. But Bharat Sisodia still refused to let it be the end of its story. In November 2022, Bharat and his team reached the spot after receiving a message about the tree being felled. The tree had been cut to about 6–7 feet, but there was still a chance it could survive. So they took that chance. They dug a six-foot trench around the tree and used water to soften the soil around its roots. Then, with a 50-tonne crane, they carefully lifted and moved the massive tree nearly 2 km away. At its new home, they prepared the pit with soil treatments and nutrients before replanting it. The team then continued caring for it as it recovered. Today, the Peepal is reported to be growing again, with new growth emerging from the tree. A reminder that sometimes, saving a tree can mean giving it a second home instead of giving up on it. Would you support more efforts to relocate mature trees instead of cutting them down? #SaveTrees #TreeTransplantation #TreeConservation #Sustainability [100-year-old Peepal tree transplantation in India by Bharat Sisodia in Ahmedabad]

The neighbor hired a company to remove their tree, they even have a 55ft bucket lift, and the workers seem to know what they are doing. Until you see they tied a small rope to the tree, they assure you it will pull the tree the other way and they’ve don’t it many times before. Now you use a tree in the middle of your living room, and the company is claiming it was an act of god, are they still responsible?

This man who is a landscaper said you should never build a tree coffin around a tree. He said it ends up making the tree die by restricting the roots and having too much mulch. I never knew they were called "tree coffins". I looked it up and it does say they can be very detrimental to your tree if not done correctly. The pavers can restrict root growth and the mulch shouldn't be too thick or torching the base of the tree. I have seen some pretty nice "tree coffins". I never knew they were bad for your trees. Do you have these around your trees? Did you build one a certain way that allows your tree to flourish? What about the people who cemented their pavers together and in the ground?

Fire Point CEO Yryna Terekh demonstrated the FP-1 deep-strike drone and its launch system. She said the FP-1 is designed for long-range missions and can carry up to 60 kg, while the externally similar FP-2 has a shorter range but carries up to 200 kg. At launch, a small booster containing 4.5 kg of fuel lifts the drone to roughly 20-25 meters before separating, with a mechanism directing it away from the propeller. #Ukraine

KGF fame Yash had illegally cut down the trees in a forest in Bengaluru for #Toxic 🙏 You can plant a new sapling in 5 minutes, it takes 30 to 50 years for that tree to provide the same level of oxygen, shade, and carbon storage as the mature tree that was cut down 😑

Every letter in the Gaelic alphabet is linked to a tree. 🌳 The very structure of the language reflects a deep connection between people and the natural world, and an understanding of the practical and cultural importance of trees. These tree species, and many more, are part of the Caledonian forest. The language of the Gaels offers a glimpse of a time when woodland was more widespread, woven into both daily life and the landscape itself. Innovative Chinese Technology Lifts Water and Distributes It Where Needed China has developed an innovative water management system that rises along with changing water levels and then redirects and distributes water wherever it is needed. The concept offers a more flexible approach to water management, particularly for agricultural irrigation, drainage systems, and adapting to fluctuating water levels. By optimizing water distribution, the technology can improve resource efficiency and help reduce waste.

For more than two months, activists sat in the branches of a giant cottonwood tree along the Mexico border in an effort to block federal contractors from knocking it down to make way for President Trump’s border wall. That standoff came to an end.

The "Wetruegun" Drone School has developed an FPV mod for GTA V that allows players to create their own missions and customize the drone to their preferences. You can connect a real drone controller to the game. It is noted that this is not a replacement for real training, but a great way to relax.

Stripe dashboards are boring. So I built mine as a forest. Every tree is a real subscriber. Big customers grow into big trees. When someone is about to cancel, their tree turns orange. When they churn, the tree dies. When a payment comes in, it rains. You can scroll back in time and watch your whole business grow. It's not launched yet. Should I ship it? Ginkgo is a long-lived tree known as a "living fossil" for its ancient lineage. It is prized as an ornamental and street tree due to its resilience to pollution and its beautiful fan-shaped leaves that turn golden in the fall.

the second oldest olive tree in the world is the Al Badawi tree in Al Walaja, a village on the outskirts of Bethlehem. it’s estimated to be about 5000 years old by scientists. the tree holds religious, spiritual, historical, and cultural significance and is a pilgrimage site for many visitors from abroad. for the residents of Al Walaja it has also become a symbol of resistance, after their village was destroyed and they lost about 70% of their land to the settlers. Salah Abu Ali, the owner of the land where the tree is located, has dedicated his life to protecting and nurturing the olive tree. just like his father did, he often sleeps under the tree to guard it. and so do his sons. the tree has beautiful nicknames such as “the fortress” or “the mother of olives”. it is known that the older the tree, the better the quality and taste of the olives & olive oil they produce. so you can only imagine the fruits this beauty produces. as i’ve mentioned a couple of times before, archaeobotany is an extremely important part of our palestinian identity. olive trees are among the oldest inhabitants of palestine. “this tree represents an integral part of our identity and our resistance against the israeli occupation.” - Salah Abu Ali

Multiple American homeowners in this community were growing trees One tree was a black sapote tree a resident grew for 20 years. Another was an avocado tree that was 10 years old Their HOA came and chainsawed the trees down and removed them It looks like because the trees were in a more common location and not directly on the property, the HOA had authority to come and cut them down, and they did This is why nobody likes HOAs

In Abia State, there’s a tree that locals call a mystery. The Amakama Wonder Tree isn’t ordinary. It is living history, big enough to shelter 20 people, a safe haven in times of war, and a sacred landmark respected by the community. Its hollow doors and windows are all natural, making it one of the most unique trees in Nigeria. To the people, it is more than nature. It is heritage. Would you visit this tree? 👀
