The neighbor hired a company to remove their tree, they even have a 55ft bucket lift, and the workers seem to know what they are doing. Until you see they tied a small rope to the tree, they assure you it will pull the tree the other way and they’ve don’t it many times before. Now you use a tree in the middle of your living room, and the company is claiming it was an act of god, are they still responsible?

This man who is a landscaper said you should never build a tree coffin around a tree. He said it ends up making the tree die by restricting the roots and having too much mulch. I never knew they were called "tree coffins". I looked it up and it does say they can be very detrimental to your tree if not done correctly. The pavers can restrict root growth and the mulch shouldn't be too thick or torching the base of the tree. I have seen some pretty nice "tree coffins". I never knew they were bad for your trees. Do you have these around your trees? Did you build one a certain way that allows your tree to flourish? What about the people who cemented their pavers together and in the ground?

KGF fame Yash had illegally cut down the trees in a forest in Bengaluru for #Toxic 🙏 You can plant a new sapling in 5 minutes, it takes 30 to 50 years for that tree to provide the same level of oxygen, shade, and carbon storage as the mature tree that was cut down 😑

Maharashtra’s Nashik city faces a proposal to cut around 1,800 trees for constructing the Sadhugram for the 2027 Kumbh Mela. During the public hearing held by the Municipal Corporation, citizens and environmental activists strongly opposed the tree cutting plan. Senior journalist Niranjan Takle raised direct and important questions before the administration regarding the necessity of cutting the trees, possible alternatives, and environmental compensation. The Municipal Corporation stated that the tree survey process has begun.

the second oldest olive tree in the world is the Al Badawi tree in Al Walaja, a village on the outskirts of Bethlehem. it’s estimated to be about 5000 years old by scientists. the tree holds religious, spiritual, historical, and cultural significance and is a pilgrimage site for many visitors from abroad. for the residents of Al Walaja it has also become a symbol of resistance, after their village was destroyed and they lost about 70% of their land to the settlers. Salah Abu Ali, the owner of the land where the tree is located, has dedicated his life to protecting and nurturing the olive tree. just like his father did, he often sleeps under the tree to guard it. and so do his sons. the tree has beautiful nicknames such as “the fortress” or “the mother of olives”. it is known that the older the tree, the better the quality and taste of the olives & olive oil they produce. so you can only imagine the fruits this beauty produces. as i’ve mentioned a couple of times before, archaeobotany is an extremely important part of our palestinian identity. olive trees are among the oldest inhabitants of palestine. “this tree represents an integral part of our identity and our resistance against the israeli occupation.” - Salah Abu Ali

Another was an avocado tree that was 10 years old Their HOA came and chainsawed the trees down and removed them It looks like because the trees were in a more common location and not directly on the property, the HOA had authority to come and cut them down, and they did This is why nobody likes HOAs

If you had a drone and saw a tornado, would you try to fly it into the tornado? In 2022 near Crowell, TX I tried to do that, and MISSED! LOL! The winds were so strong it tossed the little drone around, but then swept it away along with the tornado. I had to run a half mile into a field of mesquite trees to track the drone down to recover this legendary footage!

This family went out of town for vacation. When they got back they noticed the neighbor had cut down some branches from their tree that were hanging over to their side. No discussion, no contact, they felt like they waited until they were gone to trim the tree. Many people said that if it is on their side hanging over they have every right to cut those branches. A lot of people brought up “Tree Law” and suggested she had a case. 🤔 Looks like there are more branches that hang over as well. We have many trees in my neighborhood and many of us share trees that give us shade and hang over each other’s property. Apparently there is a whole section dedicated to laws that govern trees between neighbors. 🤯 Have you ever heard of “Tree Law”? What would you do if you were the neighbor? Giuseppe Penone created It Will Continue to Grow Except at That Point by casting his hand around the trunk of a young tree and then leaving it alone. Over time, the tree grew freely in every direction except where the hand once pressed, preserving a single, permanent indentation. Nothing was cut or reshaped by force—the work emerged through time, growth, and restraint. Long after the hand disappeared, its trace remained in the living wood, a quiet record of how even brief human contact can leave a lasting mark on nature.
