Okay I improved the chat a bit on both AIM and IRC, it has more tools now like Search and Thinking so you can actually have deep convos with it now that can query the web, very nice I tried asking it what's going on on Hacker News today and it told me Chat Control 3 and I asked about what it was etc. and what it thought about it, all inside AOL Instant Messenger 😊 Feels really fun to have access to modern LLMs on retro Windows

The modern-way of advertising? Fast-vertising. Where something goes viral. It starts trending. And then a company spins up an ad or content while the window of relevance is still open. North Face just did this to perfection. A video went viral where a lady was in Australia hiking. She bought a Northface "rain jacket." It was supposed to be waterproof. Yet, she was soaked. So, she recorded the video below with a few requests: 1. re-design the rain jacket 2. make it water proof 3. deliver it to her on the mountain And it racked up ~11M views. So, 5 days later, North Face recorded their response. Was the response staged? planned? Thought through? yeah, def. But they had someone from their team snag a jacket. Get on a helicopter. Deliver it to her on the mountaintop. It also went viral and racked up ~4M views. This crushed because North Face executed the response within a week. 2-3 weeks later and it would've lost all of its relevance. It also was customer service based. They took an angry customer and flipped the script on its head and did what the customer asked. Huge ups to North Face. And I'm glad she got a new jacket ha

I built this little #robot I ordered from Hugging Face Pollen Robotics and connected it to the Google Gemini AI model through its API gateway. The robot wanted its own personality - so I gave it an #ATX (Texas) vibe and you can see the result in the video. Really awesome - it even answers questions and carries on a conversion. The vision and hearing are great - it can identify and follow what it sees (with a reasonable delay). My next goal is to get it to work with a 100% local AI model. Specs: 2 cameras, 4 microphones, a speaker, and a wifi interface to a Raspberry Pi built-in controller. I plan to demo it at the InnoTech #InnoTechAUS event on May 12th. I literally just watched GPT-5.5 via codex beat an Amazon customer associate in real time. 💀 I asked it to get me a refund, and I watched it navigate the settings, cancel the subscription, then it went step further into the help page. I thought it was going to request a phone call (which would prompt me to take over) Instead, it opened: “Chat with an associate now.” That’s when I sat up on my couch because I knew it was going to get real The agent said: “Your subscription is active.” And GPT-5.5 immediately explained that it only shows as active because cancellation leaves access through the billing period, but that I wanted it stopped now and refunded. And my jaw just hung open, it was the first time I watched sand handle a customer service agent for me in real time Once the agent confirmed the refund, it just ended the chat no mercy no thank you LMAO First time I’ve watched a human customer service agent get outmaneuvered by AI in real time. And it made me 15$! almost paid for itself in 5 minutes

ok i just tried this and we r cooked… Tavus gave me early access to griffin so i got on a call with it pretending to book a photographer. first reaction: this lowk should NOT be released to the public yet 😭 the movement is insanely good but once you stare at it long enough you start noticing the tells. 1. the head movement is almost too smooth. humans make a bunch of tiny ugly movements when we talk. micro adjustments, random eye movements, weird pauses, posture shifts. Griffin kinda glides between states instead. 2.there’s also this slight disconnect between the face reacting and the rest of the body catching up. like the expression changes before the physical movement fully sells it. but that’s also what freaked me out. give this another 6 months and “just look closely at the video” is not gonna be a serious way to tell what’s real anymore lol
