T-Mobile US is an American company whose parent company was once 100% owned by the German Government and they’re a significant partner for the World Economic Forum (WEF). The sense of touch is the most criminally under-explored modality in robotics. Imagine doing sleight of hand wearing thick oven mitts. That's exactly how a robot feels today if it were alive. A magnetic piece snapping into place, a paper cup peeling out of a stack, a USB negotiating its way into the port - all invisible to the camera. Learning how to feel must be a full-stack co-designed effort. We are open-sourcing a principled methodology called "T-Rex": 1. Tactile as first-class citizen of the model. Our mixture-of-transformer runs two clocks asynchronously: a slow visuomotor expert plans the motion, and a fast tactile expert refines it in real time with high-frequency corrections at 4 "touch ticks" per vision tick. Forces change faster than frames arrive, so the architecture had to as well. 2. Open data. The largest tactile dataset ever released to our knowledge: a 50-hour (~5,500 episodes) high-quality, carefully synchronized robot play corpus, collected on SOTA tactile hand hardware with 22 degrees of freedom. Reflecting on last Thursday were we encapsulated our ICT agenda on fostering innovation, shaping strategy and celebrating excellence. Morning we celebrated Zimbabwe's brilliant young innovators at the AI Innovation Week prize giving ceremony. Their AI prototypes for mining and agriculture are groundbreaking. Big thanks to our partners UNDP Zimbabwe Zimbabwe and CBZ Holdings. Afternoon i attended the launch of our national economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS 2) at Statehouse, followed by the 2026 Budget Presentation at the New Parliament. We were encouraged by the clear, deliberate commitment to fund AI adoption by Treasury,though we need to continue to push for more resources from them and forge more partnerships,this is a great win for our digital future. My evening concluded at our Ministry's ICT Excellence Awards 2025. It was a great honor to celebrate the heroes and heroines of our sector. Special thanks to Hon T. The electricity network powering the holy sites is one of the most advanced and sophisticated systems in the world. Stretching across more than 6,000 kilometers of electrical distribution networks, the system ensures uninterrupted power supply to every corner of the holy sites during the peak of Hajj activities. To guarantee efficiency and rapid response, over 3,072 automated distribution stations are deployed and monitored through advanced control centers equipped with modern digital technology. These stations help maintain stability and reliability even during periods of massive demand. The system is further strengthened by more than 10,503 smart meters, providing real-time monitoring and accurate management of electricity consumption across the holy sites. Supporting all of this is a fiber optic network spanning about 940 kilometers, enabling fast communication, instant data transmission, and seamless coordination between operational centers and field teams. “In the 15th century, Asia was the most technologically developed region. Europe had advanced only in a few sectors, including gunpowder, cannons, & ocean-going ships. These three technologies helped Europe to conquer the rest of the world. The conquest of Asia & Africa set back the development of science & technology in our countries, creating the technological divide of today. Another quantum leap in technology & innovation is taking place in the 21st century at a geometric rate, further widening the existing technological divide & leading to the marginalisation of the South. Two key factors are essential for developing nations to come out of this crisis. The first is digitalisation & adopting new technologies such as Big Data, Internet of Things, AI, Blockchain, biotechnology, & genome sequencing. The second is ensuring a workforce skilled in the multifaceted fields of science & technology. A well-equipped & knowledgeable workforce is necessary to accelerate the needed transformation. Let me outline the measures my government is taking. A continuing economic restructuring process after the financial crisis of 2022 allows us to harness the potential of science, technology, & innovation for our future trajectory of sustainable development & high growth. We are currently evaluating the performance of our existing science & technology research institutes, some of which are underperforming. To promote utilising new technologies for Sri Lanka's growth, the government will establish a Technology & Innovation Council & a digital transformation agency. Our universities currently do not have the capacity to create the requisite number of technology specialists. Therefore, we will establish four new universities focusing on new technologies. One of these is the outcome of technological cooperation between India & Sri Lanka. The International Climate Change University will be the fifth. The digital divide presents significant challenges to the development of the global south. These include limited access to costly technology, inadequate digital skills & infrastructure, cultural & institutional barriers, & financing constraints. Global trade barriers further compound these issues. To overcome these challenges, the G77 & China must establish an effective mechanism for cooperation. Otherwise, our endeavours will be limited to immediately reinvigorating the consortium of science & technology & innovation for the South, commonly known as COSTIS. This will be a test of our commitment. A revised Programme of Action with other proposed new measures is required. These measures should include collectively creating technological platforms modelled on the European Union's technology & innovation platforms in the following fields: digitalisation, health medication, AI, & renewable energy, including green hydrogen. Secondly, interested G77 countries must commit to earmarking 1% of their GDP for R&D. This has to be achieved over a decade. Thirdly, we must foster collaboration between governments and the private sector. The brain drain from the South to the North & the resulting loss of educated manpower is another threat to the development of science, technology, & innovation in the South. China, India, Japan, & South Korea have developed science, technology, & innovation by nurturing their own manpower. Therefore, we must ask for compensation from the North for the loss of our manpower. Strengthening South-South cooperation can also play a significant role in addressing the critical issues of expanding our human resources. Sri Lanka urges the Group of 77 & China to work together to introduce a scheme similar to the Colombo Plan to increase collaboration, exchange best practices, & push policies that harness the transformational potential of science, technology, & innovation amongst us. Sri Lanka is committed to supporting the new Hawana Declaration. We must ensure that the collective voice of G77 & China is heard in international fora.”

Impact After Term | 13 : iTNT Hub — Scaling Tamil Nadu's Deep Tech Ecosystem (Part 2) Establishing iTNT Hub was only the first step. The larger vision was to ensure that Tamil Nadu's emerging Deep Tech ecosystem extended beyond Chennai, enabling innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs across the State to participate in the technologies shaping the future. Under the leadership of Dr. PTR as Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, iTNT Hub expanded through regional centres in Tiruchirappalli, Madurai and Coimbatore. By bringing world-class infrastructure, mentoring, industry partnerships and access to investment closer to Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the initiative laid the foundation for a more decentralised innovation ecosystem. To strengthen early-stage Deep Tech entrepreneurship, the FOUNDATION Fund was launched, through which the first five startups received ₹53 lakh in seed funding. The Deep Tech Hardware Product Design Scheme further supported indigenous hardware innovation by providing grants of up to ₹15 lakh for product design and development. Recognising that innovation achieves its greatest value only when research reaches the marketplace, the Tamil Nadu Technology Transfer Facilitation Centre (TNTTFC) was established in July 2025. Through patent facilitation, IP management, Innovation Spotlight and the Research2Revenue programme, the initiative has already enabled more than 60 patent filings while helping researchers translate ideas into commercially viable technologies. Announced by Dr. PTR in the Legislative Assembly in June 2024 and successfully held on 30 July 2025, the Innovate in TN IP Conclave strengthened Tamil Nadu's intellectual property ecosystem. During this period, iTNT Hub also expanded Tamil Nadu's global innovation network through collaborations with leading universities, research institutions and industry partners in India and abroad. Impact After Term | 13 : iTNT Hub — Scaling Tamil Nadu's Deep Tech Ecosystem (Part 2) Establishing iTNT Hub was only the first step. The larger vision was to ensure that Tamil Nadu's emerging Deep Tech ecosystem extended beyond Chennai, enabling innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs across the State to participate in the technologies shaping the future. Under the leadership of Dr. PTR as Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, iTNT Hub expanded through regional centres in Tiruchirappalli, Madurai and Coimbatore. By bringing world-class infrastructure, mentoring, industry partnerships and access to investment closer to Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the initiative laid the foundation for a more decentralised innovation ecosystem. To strengthen early-stage Deep Tech entrepreneurship, the FOUNDATION Fund was launched, through which the first five startups received ₹53 lakh in seed funding. The Deep Tech Hardware Product Design Scheme further supported indigenous hardware innovation by providing grants of up to ₹15 lakh for product design and development. Recognising that innovation achieves its greatest value only when research reaches the marketplace, the Tamil Nadu Technology Transfer Facilitation Centre (TNTTFC) was established in July 2025. Through patent facilitation, IP management, Innovation Spotlight and the Research2Revenue programme, the initiative has already enabled more than 60 patent filings while helping researchers translate ideas into commercially viable technologies. Announced by Dr. PTR in the Legislative Assembly in June 2024 and successfully held on 30 July 2025, the Innovate in TN IP Conclave strengthened Tamil Nadu's intellectual property ecosystem. Due to the prevailing political & security uncertainties at the time, we chose to keep this innovation a secret. Today, we are proud to finally present this sophisticated system to the world, the first Made-in-Nigeria Night Vision Goggles. This product gives a user the ability to see in complete darkness. This is the most sophisticated device I have ever designed and built. It also has a zoom and focus feature up to 100 meters, as well as recording and playback functions within the goggle. To the best of my knowledge, no one has ever built this piece of technology in Nigeria; we are the first to do this. We believe it has the potential to significantly enhance the operational capabilities of our nation's defense and security forces. As a testament to our commitment to national security, we humbly invite the Nigerian Army, Police, Air Force, and Navy to collaborate with us in making this cutting-edge technology mainstream, starting with a live demonstration.
