Tesla FSD once again seems broken and buggy. Why isn’t it moving when the light turned green and traffic is flowing? Oh wait. Someone illegally crossing the road that I didn’t even see. Once again I’ve learned not to question my Tesla’s decision making abilities.

To blend into LA traffic, FSD needs better unprotected left behavior. When already in the intersection behind a lead car, you are expected to close the gap and clear the turn together once opposing traffic stops, even if the light turns red. That is legal, normal, and how traffic flows. FSD still freezes here. Tesla AI

FSD v14.3.9: My first critical moment with FSD. FSD spotted a stopped school bus on the right side of the road. The bus didn’t appear to have its stop sign out on the driver side. Then FSD suddenly stopped my Tesla before the green light, going from about 60 km/h to a complete stop. After thinking for a second, it decided to continue driving. The Tesla behind me was driven by a woman, and she was NOT happy about the sudden stop at all. As soon as my car started moving again, she sped up, passed me, and gave me a killer stare for several seconds without yelling. Maybe she forgave me because I’m also an FSD driver. 😂 Tesla

As you can see in the video below, it turns out that once again, I’ve mistakenly assumed my meat brain knows better than your AI model. FSD isn’t perfect yet. That’s literally why it’s called FSD Supervised. There was nobody behind me so I decided not to intervene. Light turned green to the right… and the car just sat there doing nothing. After hours of it doing everything perfectly, you can already hear the frustration in my voice. We’re so spoiled.

At first I questioned its decision but then I saw the person slowly crossing in a wheel chair. Truly disappointed with FSD after tonight. Tesla needs to do everything in their power to get people off factory branch software. Gets halfway through an intersection only to slam on the brakes. If I were a new Tesla owner I would never touch this tech again. This is fixable. Every single new vehicle needs to be on the latest builds to ensure they have the best experience possible. I will not be continuing my subscription and will consider again once they decide to get me off the factory branch/FSD 14.2.2.5

FSD 12.5 runs a red light I want to share this to have a healthy discussion regarding this situation. This isn't in anyway an attempt to hate on FSD 12.5, I still believe this is the best release of FSD so far. Yesterday on my drive FSD for the first time ever (for me) decided to proceed on a VERY stale (red?) light. I was a bit surprised about its decision to do this, and I am wondering if perhaps the traffic light being set back (before the intersection starts there's a light on my left) has anything to do with this? Technically the car passes the light/stop line as it is still yellow. As a human driver I may have proceeded on this light if I was in a rush, but I am not sure if a robotaxi should make that same decision.
