LiDAR is good, but when vision achieves its true potential, it's way better in the real world.

I'd honestly rather my car goes around (if safe to do so) because it keeps me moving toward my destination and protects me from the next guy not paying attention. That said, there is no guarantee that the evasive maneuver would have been safe if there had been other traffic.
