This video makes me feel a little better about the lacking presentation. I bet people at the event will walk away with a very different impression than the people who watched from home. A view of the ride and vehicle like this should have been part of the presentation.

Tesla CyberCabs are going to be called "baby-makers." Elon may have solved the world's shrinking population crisis.

This is how I think Tesla's Robotaxi will work that will be unveiled on 8/8: - Tesla will make a transportation platform that will have no steering wheel or pedals and will be capable of navigating thru any and all urban, suburban, and rural environments without exception. - These solutions can range in size over time (small, medium, large). Tesla may start with one size and then expand as needed. - They will sell these to fleet providers with all the necessary components for the vehicles to operate (battery, drivetrain, electronics, safety equipment, self-driving hardware, etc.). - However, its interior will be fully customizable for different use cases (minibus, commuter pod, sleeper, party minibus, etc.). Think of it as a shell of sorts like the airline industry - Boeing and Airbus make planes, and they sell it to Delta, Southwest, United, etc. for them to outfit however they'd like. - Tesla will work with suppliers to set up a third-party "Tesla approved" ecosystem for fleet providers to leverage. This network of suppliers will meet all regulation requirements needed to operate a Robotaxi. Supplier will be able to purchase different types of trim, seats, resting surfaces, etc. - Fleet providers that purchase Robotaxi will add them to Tesla's Robotaxi Network, which will be very similar to Uber, but filled with driverless vehicles that offer different value propositions. Fleet providers will choose pricing for each type of solution offered, which can fluctuate based on competition on the network from other providers and demand of each solution. - Tesla will take a cut of each trip (20%-30%?) as a fee for providers to leverage their network. This does a few things: - Offloads the responsibility of operating a fleet at scale to providers (maintenance, clean up, customer service, interior layout changes, insurance, etc.) - Tesla makes a profit from the gate from operating a Robotaxi network (full price purchase of Robotaxi + fee for every mile driven) - Providers will have freedom to tailor their use cases to what the market demands over time while abiding to regulations set forth by each jurisdiction. As adoption and safety increases, regulations will allow for more flexibility. - Tesla's app will be downloaded by many people that use ride-hailing today, giving the company additional exposure to its products and services long term. Tell me where I've gone wrong.
