Tesla Self Driving can literally take you from point-to-point in the middle of a snow storm. It doesn't need to see road markings. It doesn't even need to see the road at all. There is currently no other company on earth shipping a sub-$40k consumer vehicle capable of this. None. I don't think any other company on earth of any kind can replicate this drive.

It's not like I thought it would be easy, I thought it would be very hard, but it was actually way harder than even that. I mean, what it comes down to at the end of the day is to solve self-driving, you basically need to recreate what humans do to drive, which is: humans drive with optical sensors (eyes) and biological neural nets. The idea that Tesla is alone in the race to develop end-to-end vision system for self-driving and delivering into consumer vehicles is officially dead. Like dead, dead. I tested Xpeng's VLA 2.0 in the streets of Beijing, and it is comparable to my experience of daily driving Tesla FSD v14. Xpeng is not charging $100 a month to drive this. It is inlcuded in its higher-trim vehicles and it already caught the attention of Volkswagen, which is going to integrate into its own vehicles - something Tesla hasn't been able to do despite trying.
