Texas is thinking about making major changes to civil jurisprudence, noneconomic damages, and appellate law. Here are my thoughts on HB 4806:

It was a thoughtful and intellectual discussion. Hat tip to Leach for allowing it😎

Tired of paying taxes? Tired of the police pulling you over on the side of the road? Tired of being pushed around and not knowing what you can do about it? My absolutely FREE course covers all the above and much more! By the end you will be filing your own lawsuits.

They lied to get tort reform passed. They are lying to get these changes passed.

@TXlege Make this insanity stop @leachfortexas you and your Rinos are destroying this state!!

Appellate courts cannot un-find facts; and wouldn't this have a huge impact on pre & post judgement interest that required line item findings on these type of damages on appeal?

Did you just vote to allow foreign Chinese students on visas to buy Texas property?

Mitch, thank you for your questions on the noneconomic damages portion of the bill. It seems like various folks have different issues with different portions of HB 4806. At what point does it just become a bad bill? Appellate courts can remedy almost all unreasonable verdicts!

IMO we need to get back to traditional Just Compensation for Takings. This will ameliorate the call for banning eminent domain. Just Compensation required compensation for the Taking plus consequential damages and recovery of the cost of defending our rights. This is not a new treatment of condemnations for Takings. 👇

This sounds preemptive for forthcoming vax lawsuits….
