NordSpace has successfully completed an intense month long campaign to qualify and test the limits of our Hadfield Mk III liquid rocket engine - metal 3D printed, regen cooled, and Earth-shakingly powerful. Next up is our first flight, scheduled for this summer, which will make Canadian... show more

What the dog doin

cool

Congratulations! Excited to see the first flight!

What would happen if you put a steak through the flame? For science, of course!!

We’re way ahead of you - we’ve got a lot of silly stuff planned for the next campaign 😁

Awesome, whats the longest duration burn you`ve tested so far? Also, is the plan for the test launch single or multiple engines?

On this current version of the Darkhorse test cell, for the suborbital engine we run up to 30 seconds, for orbital (later this year) ~10 seconds. Our next test cell (Nightfox) to test full duration orbital mission burns is in the planning stages. We reach steady state with our engine in much less than a single second so longer burns are mostly an infrastructure limitation for now. Upcoming flight will use one engine.

that quadruped got out of there QUICK

Man I'm pumped for this. Glad to see fellow Canadians go for it in space.

You guys are rocketing through this test stage. Next step is to leave the nest and fly! See what I did there👆the play with words? Ah, never mind. You Gus are awesome. Keep up the great work making Canada launch capable.🚀🛰️
