Hey brother, this was close! Forgive me, but I am super particular when it comes to this science, as I care a great deal about cannabis, education, medical science, biology, and health. Let's dig in... THCA converts to Delta 9 THC by means of decarboxylation. (Not THC - explained below...) ( Readers Context: Decarboxylation is the process of heating/lighting it on fire / using the oven. This is what people do to make edibles have high concentration of Delta 9 THC, because consuming or eating THCA, will not get you high.) The Thing About Delta 9 THC and THCA: Delta 9 THC exists by default in lower quantities, though people believe the opposite. They believe one of two things: 1. They believe cannabis flower from medical marijuana/recreational marijuana grows is naturally higher in Delta 9 THC than hemp, and may believe THCA is synthetic, and not a real cannabinoid. 2. They do not know what Delta 9 THC is, and think that all THC variants are fake, and only know about THC as a namesake. This is why hemp THCA is going the way it is. I won't talk about that here though. But it's a deep subject. THC is not the true final name though my friend. We need to be clear about our cannabinoids to create effective education. THC encompasses several homologs including THCA, THCV, THCP, and so forth. There are more than 40 different THC variables that are encompassed by the THC name. The math for Total THC, the number that everyone cares about is: (Delta 9 THC + THCA)*0.877 So, to put it into perspective, Delta 9 THC is the THC format that THCA decarboxylates into, and that mathematical formula is the average expected decarb conversion into the final form of Delta 9 THC. Things that are high in THCA: - Cannabis/Hemp concentrates - THCA (Hemp) Flower/Cannabis Flower (Medical and/or Recreational) Things that are high in Delta 9 THC: - RSO/FSO - Edibles

@TexasCannabis We are saying the same thing except I didn’t go into hemp derived but that was a great explanation my man

So you're saying all bud is thca anyway?

I appreciate the explanation. I'm an older guy and really didn't understand it. THCa is sold in Texas, but regular isn't. Local smoke shops couldn't really explain the difference when I asked. Thanks

What about hemp derived thca? These websites are popping up everywhere that claim it’s thca derived from hemp.

need to include hemp derived vs artificial. THCa is normal in very small amounts in naturally grown marijuana. like 24% THC and 1-2% THCa. when you see packs that are 1% THC and 24% THCa that’s just a spray pack. old mids (or god knows what) sprayed with artificial THCa 🤢🤮

Yea yea you’ll still never be able to convince me the high is the same, trichs are even not right in thca flower as they’re harvested early. The two are similar in sense that they do both have thca still, but are not the same 🔥🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

THCa decarboxilates into D9THC at an approximately 87% conversion rate I’ve tried explaining this to folks who don’t smoke, but you can’t administer medicine to the dead 🤷‍♂️

Yes. This is the best for ordering online in illegal states. THCA bud and concentrates only for months since I’ve learned about it.
