Today marks the 50th Anniversary of the First Summit of Heads of State and Government that took place in Algiers in 1975. The Summit addressed the plight of poorer nations. It called for a new era of cooperation in international relations and for dialogue between producers and consumers in the interests of global economic development, security of supply and market stability. And it reaffirmed the sovereignty of #OPEC Member Countries over their natural resources and their right to develop. The Summit also led to the establishment of the OPEC Fund for International Development in 1976.

Today, many media outlets reported that Zelensky "spoke at the NATO summit in Ankara," citing his statements from there. In reality, Zelensky did not speak at the summit, and according to media reports, his appearance there was not planned, so as not to "irritate Trump." He spoke at the Defense Industry Forum in Ankara, which was held as part of the summit, but outside of the actual meetings of the Alliance leaders.

Interesting optics from the Lake Lucerne Summit. Asim Munir’s Private Secretary, Major General Syed Jawad Tariq, was seated inside the meeting hall as part of the official delegation. Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif’s media coordinator, Badar Shahbaz 🇵🇰 , was asked to leave the room along with all journalists once the meeting began and can be seen exiting in the video. Pakistani delegation had room for generals and military aides, but not for the Prime Minister’s own staff. A perfect snapshot of who appears to be running the show in Pakistan these days.

On day one of the Global Fraud Summit, we - the Ghana delegation - stressed the point that we will not support an international arrangement on global fraud which establishes a one-way traffic of extraditing cybercrime suspects to Western countries. We will, however, support and be part of an arrangement which has a corresponding mechanism for quicker extradition, surrender of political corruption suspects or recovery of loots back to Africa. The Summit is under the auspices of the UN Office on Drugs and Crimes and INTERPOL. It is to explore the establishment of a global legal framework for fighting cross border fraud.
