The AFL has confirmed the Judd McVee third umpire overrule was an error and that both clubs have been contacted to concede the mistake. The Demons were only 15 points down at this stage. McVee clearly touched the ball, AFL ARC over ruled the behind call and called it...

Isn’t he hanging onto the goal post to touch the ball though? Both feet off the ground so he’s climbing the post. Crows shoulda been awarded a free kick Cmon Ralphy get off it

How long does this have to go on for before there is a change! They should only overrule the soft call if they are 100% sure it’s a mistake. A blatant wrong call. It has to be concrete. How many times with suspect footage do they overrule on gut feel. It needs to stop.

The umpiring in general is abysmal. So many trash umpires. Sort it out afl.

2 Horrible decisions have been made against us in those goals

The bravest goal umpire in the world. It cleared the padding. The replay shows daylight between the post and the ball. Snicko didn’t work. If he had reviewed it you could easily make a case the ARC would have called it a goal. Adelaide will believe they should have won #afl

I have no idea how this is an error. This should be a hit for certain. This was ruled an error on the third baseman on this ball hit by Chicago Cubs Seiya Suzuki. The error was charged to the third baseman of the St. Louis Cardinals Blaze Jordan, but that won’t hold. This has been a hit all year, and Jordan is going to the ground to make this play. #Cubs #StlCards

This umpire made an unpopular call, but is it the correct call? Man on first and the batter hits a line drive to the shortstop- a line drive. The shortstop drops the ball, tags second and throws to first for the double play. The umpire called an infield fly rule, called the batter out and sent the runner back to first. He said the shortstop intentionally dropped the ball, thus he instituted the infield fly rule. I’ve never seen that before when it is not a pop up. Do you think it was a good call by the umpire or a smart play by the shortstop or both a good call and a smart try by the shortstop? Have you ever seen a line drive called an infield fly rule?

This home plate umpire, Dan Merzel, called this ball down the third base line fair which resulted in a single. The third baseman picked the ball up after he said it crossed over the line into foul territory. I say that is a foul ball and the ump made the wrong call. What do you think? Fair or foul?

The AFL has confirmed there’s no communication from the coaches box to umpires during play. The ump said “I just got word” but it would have been from another field umpire. Konstanty kicked the ball away, not a Dons player. Dons should have eventually got the free kick Fox Footy

"It's not OK to put the L-plate umpires out there!" Former AFL umpire 'Razor' Ray Chamberlain and Gerard Whateley were at odds over the state of umpiring, and whether the four-umpire system has exposed a lack of depth. #AFL360

This umpire gave this kid and his team two warnings for throwing the bat at the catcher. He told them if it happened again they were going to get ejected from the game. Well….it happened again. The batter hit the ball back to the pitcher and the pitcher overthrew first base. But, the umpire called a dead ball and called the batter out and ejected him from the game. The coach came out to argue and said the batter didn’t throw the bat, that it was a regular follow through on the back swing. He told the umpire they had it on film. The umpire said he had it on film too. Then the third base coach came down to argue and the umpire told the coach he was wrong and that he had it on video. You can hear the parents screaming at him. Some people said that was a terrible call and he let go legally on the follow through. You can also hear them tell the umpire that he had it out for that kid. 🤯 But a lot of people sided with the ump and said he handled it well and with that many warnings that it was a fantastic call. 💯 The umpire gave the same kid two prior warnings. Even if it wasn’t intentional, there has to be consequences after a third time. He could seriously injure the catcher. This will help the batter in the future hopefully. What do you think? Was this the right or wrong call?

This will likely end up being one of the most bizarre replay reversals this year. The runner is correctly ruled short of the goal line (albeit shorter than it should have been). Replay reversed to touchdown. He has the ball in his left arm and touches the pylon with this right hand. The ball becomes dead at the point and the foremost point of the ball is the dead ball spot. That spot is clearly behind the hand that touches the pylon. It's impossible for the ball to have broken the plane at that point. The Referee's announcement is equally bizarre. The ball never came close to touching the pylon.

🚨FOURTH OUT MISTAKE!!!🚨 NO WAY!!! Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays and in the 7th Boston has first and third and one out. Ceddanne Rafaela hits a fly to center and both runners forget there was one out and just ran without tagging up. After the ball was caught, the Blue Jays threw the ball in and doubled off the runner at first, for an inning ending double play. Since the runner from third scored BEFORE the third out, the run counts because this is not a force, but a timing play. What Toronto SHOULD have done is after the out at first, they legally could have thrown to third and appealed that that runner left early. This would have been the elusive FOURTH OUT and this would have replaced the third out and nullified the run. Once all the infielders crossed the foul line, the ability to appeal the play was lost, and once that happened, the run was officially counted. #DieryWater #BlueJays50

With the bases loaded and 2 outs, Javier Sanoja hit a ball down the line that landed fair, but 1B umpire Shane Livensparger ruled it foul. The call was overturned on review, but the Marlins were only awarded two runs even though a 3rd run would've scored if the correct call was made. When manager Clayton McCullough complained, 3B umpire Todd Tichenor immediately ejected him. The Marlins lost by 1.
