The biggest threat to Bitcoin is not quantum computing or new AI models breaking encryption. The real threat is people trying to “improve” the code and making it more complicated. Bitcoin has won its place as digital money and has been adopted by millions of users worldwide.

Complexity isn’t neutral, it’s attack surface. Every added feature is another battle line in a consensus war where the cost of failure is measured in decades of lost trust.

simplicity is the whole point tbh

Funny thing is the quantum fix is itself a code change. Ossification works right up until the one upgrade you cannot skip, and that fight is better had early than in a panic.

SegWit was an "improvement" too, and it fixed third-party malleability — without it Lightning does not exist. The dividing line is not complexity. It is the 21 million cap: any fork that touches that number is dead on arrival, whatever the code quality.

core devs adding complexity is just a slow rug on the only asset that already shipped, let them cook and ngmi

boring tech that just works is the hardest flex in finance. pick one: most dangerous thing in crypto a) quantum b) a dev with a 'quick improvement' c) me with a leverage button

Bitcoin's simplicity is one of its biggest strengths. No reason to complicate something that's already proven itself.
