The pinnacle of everything investors have been waiting years for and Elon doesn’t show up. Not a good look. Literally the main reason most long term investors have held the stock. The only thing (up until Optimus) that keeps you priced as a tech company and you’re like nah I’m good.

100yrs and finally some innovation. Tesla Engineers are GOD. think like that modular sofa you bought. it a three seater. now you move to a bigger condo and can add pieces and make it sectional or remove one seat add arms and back and make the rest modular to fit you space. understand what this implies to car manufacturing and repairability!!!

I attended Tesla’s Cybercab launch in Austin and spent 2.5+ hours questioning engineers about unboxed manufacturing, the plastic exterior body panels, brake-by-wire, the battery pack, AI5 and more. My takeaway: Cybercab may be Tesla’s most important product since the Model 3. I fit as much info as I could in this video. Hope it's helpful!

Cybercab entering into the Giga Texas production line exit this morning & we see many more castings have been made … all 3 that are used for the basic structure of the body that is part of the “unboxed” process”. We are just over 50 day s from when initial production is expected to begin. With testing of the Cybercab in multiple states and cities, crash testing & evaluation work already completed, all these castings, & production line run through tests, we are getting very close to seeing many more of these around the factory!

This is glimpse of Tesla’s unboxed process for building the Cybercab that was shown at the event. The car is basically broken into six major modules: 1/ Front - drivetrain, thermal system, power electronics, FSD computer, display… all built around a massive front giga casting. 2/ Center - battery pack, carpet, seats. 3/ Rear - axle, trunk, rear giga casting. 4/ Left door. 5/ Right door. 6/ Roof. And instead of building the entire car body first, Tesla builds these sections all at the same time. Then the team brings them together and bolts the Cybercab together. That’s the key difference vs other car makers… the traditional process is basically: a/ Stamp the body. b/ Weld the whole shell together. c/ Paint it. d/ Then start stuffing everything into tight spaces inside a closed car. The Tesla unboxed method flips that idea upside down. You can build each part while everything is still wide open… and things don’t need to wait for the other. Everything can work independently of each other. In the unboxed process, seats can drop in before the roof is there. Workers and robots can access components from every side. Less reaching into a finished shell. Less wasted motion. Less labor fighting the car just to build the car. And the front and rear are anchored by huge giga castings. You can literally see the bolt holes where the side structures connect to the front. I can’t believe Tesla actually pulled this new unboxed method off… a completely different way of thinking about how a vehicle gets assembled. The Cybercab has been designed like a machine that’s about to be produced at MASSIVE scale.

Every exterior camera on Cybercab has its own dedicated washer. The entire front of the car is completed before mating to the other segments during production using the unboxed method. It will allow Tesla to scale to a Cybercab cycle time of ~10s or less. This method will change the landscape of automotive production forever. In the video, that is exactly how the car is produced at the factory. All those pieces are assembled, then mated together to complete the final product. I had the pleasure of talking to one of the engineers responsible for helping create the unboxed method, it was really awesome.
